Three at Hilton Sign NLIs

The Hilton Cadets saw three of their seniors sign National Letters of Intent in a ceremony at school on Thursday. Austin Holley who returns to Hilton this season will go to St. Bonaventure. Attackman Zach Boyatzies will be off to Mercyhurst and Ben Mitrano who also plays in the attack will be moving on to Marist.

Austin Holley returns to the Cadets after a year at St. Joe`s in Buffalo where he won 332 faceoffs for a 77% percentage. He will join Austin Blumbergs (Penn Yan), Jake Emmick (Penfield), and Mark Belles (Canandaigua).

Ben Mitrano started playing on the Hilton Varsity as an eighth grader and over the four years will start his senior year with 69g-45a. He was named to the second team All Section Five list and was a first team All-League pick in midfield (MC-d1). Marist (Poughkeepsie, NY) finished last year at 10-7, winning the MAAC Championship and then losing in the first round of the NCAA Division I tournament.

Zach Boyatzies signed his NLI for Mercyhurst University. Last season the attackman scored a team-leading 40g and was named to the first attack All-League team (MC-d1). Long-time Head Coach, Chris Ryan, is an Irondequoit alumnus and often recruits Section Five players. On the current roster are Ben Smith-Wilcox (Canandaigua),  Justin Sale (Irondequoit), Nicholas Mabe (Thomas), Shawn Doran (Hilton), Matthew Sherman (Irondequoit), Brett Olney (Irondequoit), Patrick Carrozzi (Victor), Ryan Ter Haar (Churchville-Chili), Quinn Simonson (Irondequoit) and Steven Katz (Thomas).
