# 3526 2024 All-Section Five List Released The Section V Lacrosse leadership has selected first, second and honorable mention lists of All-Section players. To be nominated each player was required to be selected to their first team all-league team (except Independent teams). The lists were selected from a pool of ninety-seven players. The selections were reviewed by Chairmen of each of the two leagues, two at-large coaches the Lacrosse Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator. Although grade and league were not major factors in selection, the lists show the skills that are found throughout the section. Twelve Monroe County teams were represented on the lists, with the rest representing Finger Lakes (6), and Independents (3). Showing that the "Best of the Best" can come from any age group, there were 27 seniors, 10 juniors, and 4 sophomores listed. Distribution among the positions shows 12 midfielders, 11 attackmen, 10 defensemen, 2 FO specialists, 1 LSM, 1 A/M, and 4 goalies. First Team

# 3510 McQuaid Jesuit Wins First Block *+ McQuaid Jesuit scored the final four goals of the game spanning the entire second half to secure their first ever Section Five Title. The Black Knights
The second half belonged to the Knights. McQuaid Jesuit scored four unanswered goals to take their first lead of the game and secure the win. Three of the four goals were scored in the third quarter. All three goals were assisted and the culmination of multiple quick passes. The first ended with AJ Quagrello assisting Will Engle. Harding assisted the second and third goals with feeds to Ryan Woodard and Domenic Giangreco. Additional players named to the All-Tournament team included Luke Fliss (Pittsford), Mitchell Monte (Fairport), Gianforti (McQuaid Jesuit), Will Engel (McQuaid Jesuit), Ryan Bowerman (Penfield), Ethan Aust (Penfield). |
# 3456 Lots of One Goal Wins Today DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - There were 12 games played today and a whole bunch of close games under wet and rainy conditions. Livonia-Avon, HFL, Penfield and Victor each won their games by one goal. |
# 3440 Games Start this Week After a couple of postponed games last week, games are expected to start up this week. There are 28 games on the schedule and a good number will have the opportunity to make strong statements. |

The 2023 first team lists fifteen players and includes the six All-Americans previously announced. "It`s always difficult to choose from so many talented players," said Section Five Chairman, Mike Simon. |
# 3350 Week In Review - Week 3 There eighteen games played last week. There are seventy-four out of section games scheduled and seven have been played. Section V teams have won eleven and lost seven (61%). There are still nine teams that are undefeated at this point. |
# 3344 Players of the Week - First Group Section V Boys Lacrosse Coordinator Mike Simon in conjunction with the Canandaigua National Bank are, once again, sponsoring recognition of noteworthy performances throughout the season. For our first group we have two juniors who had noteworthy performances since the start of the season. |
