# 3496  The Tournaments Begin

DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - The Section V tournaments began today with two Class B out bracket games and the seeding held as the high seeded teams won. Churchville-Chili won their game against Brockport and will move on to play Victor on Tuesday. Thomas won their game against Gates Chili and will move on to play Irondequoit on Tuesday.

BROCKPORT-7 at CHURCHVILLE-CHILI-15 - The Saints (#8) senior attackman Colin Duncan scored six goals,  senior attackman Dominic Hoch added two goals and four assists and, junior Brayden Hoak chalked up three goals and an assist. Churchville-Chili sophomore faceoff specialist Isaac Bailey won 16+/9- = 64% and in the goal Beckham Clancy recorded 10s/6ga = 63% (42 mins). Next up for the Saints is a trip to Victor on Tuesday for a quarterfinal game. There was no report from Brockport at post-time.    [ BOX SCORE] 

GATES CHILI-3 at THOMAS-18 - Scoring for Gates Chili were senior attackman Quentin Cato (1g-1a), junior face off midfielder Michael Alley (1g), and sophomore defenseman Jayden Maryjanowski (1g). DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - There were 12 games played today and a couple were close ones. Newark was a 7-6 winner over Midlakes-Red Jacket. Irondequoit defeated Pittsford by a score of 7-6. Hilton and Thomas played a close game until the last quarter when the Cadets took off. CA was a 10-6 winner over Penfield and Marcus Whitman was a 10-7 winner over Gananda.

DAY IN REVIEW: MONDAY - The 2023 Section V tournaments began today with single out-bracket games in Classes B and D. Moving on to the quarterfinals are Haverling who won their game over Midlakes-Red Jacket 7-3 and Churchville-Chili who beat Gates Chili 16-4.

# 3392  Tuesday: Coach Whipple Wins 225th Game

DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - There were fourteen games played and it was the last game of the regular season for some teams. The Blue Panthers held off a fourth quarter surge by the Pride and held on for the 13-12 win. Aquinas, likewise held off a last quarter surge by the Lakers, winning 12-10 and locking up the GRALL title. Thomas won the battle at Webster and Penn Yan had a shutout against Clarence.
