There were thirty-five games played last week. There are seventy-two out of section games scheduled and 47 have been played. Section V teams have won 31 and lost 16 (66% wins). There are two undefeated teams at this point: Canandaigua (10-0) and Pal-Mac (10-0).

Looking Back
Despite a rainout that halted play for a day, the week delivered a mix of dominant wins and closely contested matchups. Two teams saw their perfect seasons come to an end: Pittsford fell to Irondequoit, while Bloomfield-Honeoye lost to Pal-Mac in a clash of unbeatens.
Monday: A Pair of Nail-Biters
Six games kicked off the week, including two thrillingly close contests. Irondequoit edged Spencerport 12-10 in a non-league showdown, fueled by standout performances from Cooper Moore and Kieran Stenzel, while Spencerport’s Jayden Mandarano delivered an impressive four-goal effort. In another tight matchup, Gates Chili secured an 11-9 victory over East United-Eastridge, thanks to stellar contributions from Jayden Maryjanowski and Michael Alley. Elsewhere, Aquinas, Brighton, Brockport, and Midlakes dominated their opponents, showcasing impressive offensive and defensive displays.
Tuesday: No Games, Player Honors Announced
Weather disruptions kept teams off the field, but the Players of the Week were unveiled: Hilton’s faceoff midfielder Drew O’Buck and Penfield’s goalkeeper Mason Schembri earned the honors.
Wednesday: A Dynamic Day of Lacrosse
A full slate of matchups unfolded on Wednesday. Orchard Park outlasted Aquinas 17-12 behind Justin Relosky’s three goals and five assists, while Aquinas’ Jake Gibson reached a milestone with 400 career saves. Brighton delivered an authoritative 11-3 league win over Schroeder, powered by Miles McGuire’s offensive leadership and Logan Serve’s 67% save rate in goal.
Twelve total games were played, including commanding victories from Hilton (28-1 over East United-Eastridge), Haverling (13-0 over Batavia-Notre Dame), and Canandaigua (16-5 over HFL).
Thursday: Mismatched Wins Across the Board
All four games played on Thursday ended in decisive victories. Pal-Mac remained undefeated with a 21-9 win over Bloomfield-Honeoye, shaking off early struggles before pulling away. Geneva handled Marcus Whitman 17-3, with Max Heieck netting five goals, while Marcus Whitman’s Tyler Speers celebrated his 200th career save. Midlakes dominated Newark 16-2, featuring contributions from seven different Eagles and a stellar 87% save rate by goalie Stuart Quku. Meanwhile, Penn Yan shut out Waterloo 19-0, showcasing airtight defense and a deep scoring roster.
Friday: Overtime Drama
Four matchups highlighted Friday’s action, including a nail-biting overtime showdown where Spencerport edged Fairport 7-6. Jayden Mandarano delivered the clutch game-winner after a late rally, while standout efforts from Ajavananda and Monte kept the game competitive. Elsewhere, Canandaigua cruised past Gates Chili 19-3 behind Ryan Bremer’s four-goal effort, Brighton dispatched Corning 17-7, and Hilton controlled the second half en route to a 14-5 victory over Aquinas.
Saturday: Wet Conditions, Tight Battles
Ten games took place in generally rainy weather, with three coming down to the wire. Grand Island secured a hard-fought 10-8 win over Schroeder, bolstered by key performances from Cody Preston and Van Bolton in goal. JD held off Victor in a gritty 9-7 victory, fending off a late offensive surge from Victor. Meanwhile, Wayne edged Mynderse-Romulus 14-13 in a dramatic FL-D1 league contest, with Tas Strickland leading the scoring and eighth-grade goalie Gavin Hamel stepping up in a clutch moment.
Other matchups saw dominant victories, including McQuaid Jesuit extending their winning streak against St. Joseph’s, Penn Yan celebrating milestone goals, and HFL rolling past their opponent with a commanding 14-2 win.
Looking Ahead
Fifty-one games are scheduled for the upcoming week, promising plenty of action on the field.
Monday will see four matchups, including Haverling at Bishop Kearney and Waterloo at Batavia-Notre Dame
Tuesday also features fifteen games, highlighted by Victor at Irondequoit and Fairport at Hilton.
Wednesday has just one game ar Bishop Kearney plays at Batavia-Notre Dame.
Thursday has a dozen games scheduled including Gananda at Newark, Penn Yan at HFL, Thomas at Aquinas, Wayne at LAG, Bloomfield-Honeoye Geneva, Hilton at Canandaigua, East United-Eastridge at Brockport and Pittsford at Victor.
Friday’s four matchups include Spencerport at Brighton.
Saturday rounds out the week with fifteen games, featuring some marquee matchups: Pittsford at Hilton, LAG at Schroeder, Batavia-Notre Dame at Gananda, Brockport at Newark, Midlakes at HFL, and Aquinas at Marcus Whitman.
