Gananda travelled up to East United to play their first game of the season tonight and defeated the Eagles 12-3. The Blue Panthers scored the first two goals of the game and never trailed in their victory. Leading in the scoring for Gananda was Jake Rapp with 5g-2a (7 of 12 points for Gananda). Rapp also scored the first goal of the season for the Blue Panthers with an unassisted goal 3:53 into the game.
Senior midfielder Joel Bean finished at 64% (9/14) at the face-off draw. He returns from last season where he finished with 68/150 on the season. Bean also tallied 1g-2a during the contest. Long stick Logan Chasey recording a team leading 16 ground balls and 3 takes to lead the defensive efforts. For the Eagles, Chrishawn Hunter was a part of all three goals and finished with 1g-2a. Graham Gauthier added the remaining two goals off Hunter’s assists. East moves on to face Waterloo next Tuesday and Gananda will face RH on Monday.
