--  Updated The Screaming Eagles came out strong against the Little Irish, but a more consistent four quarters gave Aquinas a win and a 2-1 record. Aquinas defeated Wayne 7-6 with the last two goals of the game. Terrance Richards was a demonstrative presence on the field. He finished with two goals, six ground balls and a 64% day at the face off draw. Richards scored the tying goal with 5:14 remaining and finished with the third highest ground ball total for the Little Irish. Midfielder Nick Tschetter finished with a team leading 3g-1a and scored the game winning goal with 4:29 remaining.

The game started with Wayne scoring four unanswered goals. Eric Crumb, Jack Camp, John Bowman and Jake Moss scored over the first nine minutes of play. It took a man-up opportunity for Aquinas to get on the board with Tschetter assisting Jonathan Parrinello with 0:59 remaining in the opening quarter. Wayne led 4-1 after 12 minutes and only added two more goals in the final 36 minutes. The lack of consistent play was a key element in the Screaming Eagles defeat.

The second quarter was dominated by Aquinas. They finished with eleven shots to only a single shot by Wayne. Elliot Clemmons and Tschetter both scored unassisted for Aquinas to bring the score within one going into halftime (4-3). Both team added a single tally in the third quarter. Wayne's Jon Ecker scored first but Aquinas then had a goal with Clemmons assisting Tschetter. The Screaming Eagles still held a single goal lead going into the final quarter.

Richards opened the quarter by picking up his own face off and taking the ball down into the offensive area. After spending some time looking for his shot, he drove to the cage for an unassisted goal and tied the game for the first time since 0-0. Richards finished with three of the four total Aquinas shots in the fourth quarter. Wayne re-took their lead off a double man-up opportunity. Moss scored his second goal of the game unassisted with 8:10 remaining (only 10 seconds into the man-up opportunity). Richards won another face-off (off of a technical foul). He then scored unassisted again to tie the game at 6-6. Tschetter scored the game winning goal with just over 4 minutes remaining. Richards won the last face off and the Little Irish held on for the win.

Aquinas sophomore goalie Tony Deleo finished with a team leading nine ground balls. He also finished at 50% in the cage with six recorded saves. Defenseman Tyler Olbrich had another strong day with three takes for the Little Irish. That give him his season total of 12 takes. Wayne midfielder Thomas Knapp finished at 50% at the face off draw and led his team with six ground balls. In the cage, Aaron Bellinger finished with 7 saves.
