Tuesday: CA Holds On, Pittsford, Spencerport and Penfield Win

DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - Although the majority of games ended in mismatches, there were a couple of exciting games. Topping the list is Canandaigua's 4-3 win at Brighton where neither team scored in the second half. Pittsford took an early lead and then never gave it up in the 8-6 win over visiting Irondequoit and Spencerport held Fairport scoreless in two quarters in their 7-3 win at home. Penfield scored four unanswered goals in the first quarter and then coasted to their 11-7 win over visiting Schroeder.

Midlakes-Red Jacket at GreeceFAIRPORT-3 at SPENCERPORT-7 - The Rangers scored three goals in less than two minutes and held the Red Raiders scoreless in the second and third quarters. Scoring for Spencerport (5-1) were Zach Tortora (3g-1a), Jayden Mandarano (2g), Jayden Rodriguez (2a),Trevor Lewis (1g), and Ty Heaton (1g). Facing off for Spencerport was Cameron Mesh with 14+/0- = 100%. Taylor Kaye with 8s/3ga = 73% (48 mins) was in the goal for Spencerport who host Hilton on Thursday.

MIDLAKES-RED JACKET-3 at GREECE STORM-13 - Playing in intermittent snow flurries, the Storm took a 12-0 lead at the half on their way to their first win of the season. Nine different players made the book including James Maccallini (3g-1a), Andrew Hill (3g), Carter Fabian (1g-2a), and Evan Roesser (1g-1a). Facing off for Greece Storm was freshman Eric Odell with 8+/0- = 100%, and sophomore Blake Morgan with 1+/0- = 100%. CANANDAIGUA-4 at BRIGHTON-3 - Talk about defense. Neither team scored a goal in the second half of this contest while senior goalie Jack Faiola, who scored his 300th save in the game (now 303svs) recorded 5s (63%) while Brighton goalie Thomas D`Angelo had 10s (71%). With the win the Braves are 7-0, having won four by a single goal.

SCHROEDER-7 at PENFIELD-11 - The Patriots led at the half 5-2 and added six more  goals in the second half. Leading the scoring for Penfield (5-2) were Ethan Aust (1g-3a), Ethan Hamilton (4g), Brodie Joyce (2g-1a), and Adam Schembri (1g-1a). Facing off for Penfield was Adam Schembri with 2+/0- = 100%, and Benjamin Blair with 12+/8- = 60%. In the goal for the Patriots was freshman Mason Schembri with 12s/7ga = 63% (48 mins).

HF-L-13 at MARCUS WHITMAN-4 - The Cougars remain undefeated at 6-0 with their win this afternoon. Among the players scoring were Quinn Kailbourne (5g), Patrick Donahoe (2g-2a), and freshman midfielder Marco Vengoechea (1g-1a). Sophomore midfielder Carson Montone scored his first Varsity goal in the game. Facing off for HF-L was Drew Angelo with 5+/1- = 83%, and junior Ben Cook with 2+/0- = 100%. Angelo recorded his 600th faceoff win (601 total). In the goal for HF-L was Trevor Reese with 4s/0ga = 100% (24 mins). HF-L is at Canandaigua next Tuesday night.

IRONDEQUOIT-6 at PITTSFORD-8 - After a 1-1 tie in the first quarter, Pittsford took the lead and never looked back while holding off a three goal run by the Eagles who scored three unanswered goals in just over two minutes at the end of the third quarter. Pittsford (6-1) saw goals from Rex Kesselring (4g), Ian Erskine (2g-1a), Luke Fliss (1g-2a), and Ben Steingass (1g-1a).

Scoring for Irondequoit (2-4) were Cooper Moore (3g), Jonah Carrier (1g-2a), and Aidan Greco (2g). Carrier recorded 14+/4- = 78% at the faceoff X and Nick Lepiane recorded 13s/8ga = 62% (48 mins) in the cage. Lepiane recorded his 200th save (206 tot) in the game.      [ BOX SCORE

CHURCHVILLE-CHILI-4 at RUSH-HENRIETTA-16 - Seven different players scored for the Royal Comets who has a run of five goals and another run of six goals. Leading the scoring for Rush-Henrietta (2-2) were Makai Hillmon (5g-1a), Justin Dey (4g-1a), and Cody Coleman (1g-3a). Facing off for Rush-Henrietta was Mike Valent with 21+/2- = 91%. In the goal for Rush-Henrietta was sophomore Daniel Schmitz with 9s/4ga = 69% (48 mins).

Leading the scoring for Penn Yan (3-3) were Teagan Fingar (6g-1a), Carter Earl (1g-3a), Braden Fingar (1g-2a). In the goal for Penn Yan was Will Thompson with 5s/1ga = 83% (43 mins).
