Players of the Week - Group Two

Section V Boys Lacrosse Coordinator Mike Simon in conjunction with the Canandaigua National Bank are, once again, sponsoring recognition of noteworthy performances throughout the season.

In our second group we have a senior and a junior who have had noteworthy performances in the last two weeks.

Offensive Player of the Week

Sean OlvanySean Olvany - Canandaigua Attackman

Sean Olvany has been a major factor in the four one-goal wins that have protected the Brave's perfect record thus far. The junior attackman scored four of the six goals in the comeback win against Hilton including the game winner. He scored 2g-1a in the 6-5 win against Penn Yan and had 3g-1a in the 6-4 win against Spencerport.

Canandaigua Head Coach Deven York says: "Sean has had a great start to the season for us and made some big goals in some very tight games. He gained a lot of confidence during football season and has put the time in with our weight room.  He has two great hands with excellent range.  Looking forward to seeing “Big daddy” continue to develop and push his game."

Defensive Player of the Week

Jason MosherJason Mosher - Hilton Goalie

Senior goalie Jason Mosher currently had 93 saves (66%) this season. The Ohio Wesleyan commit recorded 14s (67%) in the Fairport 9-4 win and 16s in the 15-9 win against Wayne. Earlier in the season he was credited with 11s in the Cadet win against Thomas and 24s in the 8-9 loss to Canandaigua.

Hilton Head Coach Tim Byrnes says, "Jason is a great team player, always the first to practice and the last one to leave.  He is getting better every game and pushing others around him to get better.  He's a great player and a great person outside of lacrosse."
