Spencerport Tops Pittsford, Livonia-Avon Over Geneva
Saturday: DAY IN REVIEW: Spencerport broke away in the third quarter and beat Pittsford 8-6. Irondequoit won a close game over Schroeder, Livonia-Avon beat Geneva 10-8 and Bloomfield-Honeoye defeated Midlakes-Red Jacket 8-6.
Spencerport remained undefeated at 9-0 after their 8-6 home win against Pittsford this afternoon. The teams were evenly matched as both teams scored a single goal in the first quarter and both teams scored two goals in the second. The Rangers won the game with two unanswered goals in the third quarter as both teams had three goals in the fourth quarter. With Spencerport up 8-4 with 0:57 left in the game, Harrison Cross (2g) and Ben Steingass (1g) each scored for Pittsford. Cameron Mesh scored 3g, Anthony Rodriguez had 2g-1a and Justin Schnauber had 1g-2a for the Rangers in their first win against Pittsford (5-5). There was no report from Pittsford at post time. Livonia-Avon held off a last quarter charge by Geneva and returned home with a 10-8 win. Entering the fourth quarter up 7-3, Geneva score five goals and the Lakers scored three. Sophomore Jackson McEnerney scored 4g, Justin Skelly scored 2g-2a and Derrick Wigley added 1g-3a for the Lakers (9-3). Aiden Eighmey had 4g-1a and Nate Askin had 2g-2g for the Panthers. Bloomfield-Honeoye scored six of the first eight goals in the first half and that is all the Pride needed as they defeated Midlakes-Red Jacket 8-6 this morning. Max Willix had 2g-3a and JD Allen had 4g while Owen Saxby recorded 12s/6ga (67%) for the Pride. There was no report from Midlakes-Red Jacket at post time. [BOX SCORE]
Schroeder played a close game for much of the game, but Irondequoit scored five goals in the second and third quarters and never looked back in their 11-8 win in Webster. Junior attackman Noah Gibson led in scoring with 3g-2a and Ronnie Garrow added 3g for Irondequoit. Brady Ruffalo scored 4g and Nick Hauman had 2g-1a for the Warriors. Mid-way through the second quarter Haverling started a twelve-goal streak that ended with the Rams winning 19-3 over Waterloo. Ten different players scored for the Rams. Jamie O`Neil had 6g-3a and Brady Dickson had 2g-4a for Haverling (5-4). Sophomore attackman Nathan Costantino had 2g-1a for Waterloo. [BOX SCORE]
Pal-Mac turned a 10-1 half into an 18-3 win against visiting Gananda in the Finger Lakes play. Eleven players made the offensive book, led by Logan Babcock with 4g-2a and Quinn Nolan with 4g-3a. Will Nichols made 5s/3ga (63%) in 38 mins and Peyton Lich made 1s/0ga (100%) in 10 mins for the Red Raiders (8-2). Brock Chasey had 1g-2a for the Blue Panthers. [BOX SCORE]
Senior A/M Devon Gerhardt scored 2g-5a and Ayden Mowry scored 6g for Penn Yan in their 14-2 victory over visiting Aquinas this afternoon. Griffin Emerson recorded 5s/2ga (71%) in his 44 mins in the cage and Wil Thompson went 0s/0ga in his 4 mins for the Mustangs, still undefeated at 9-0. Newark held Mynderse scoreless in the first half and allowed only one goal in the third as they defeated the Blue Devils 9-1 this morning. Jayden Shepherd and Brandon McNeil each scored 3g and Bryson Croft had 3a while, in the cage, Caleb George Cady made 11s/1ga (92%) for the Reds. There was no report from Mynderse at post time.
