Still 9 Section Five Teams on State Poll
The New York State Sportswriters Association lacrosse pollsters have kept nine teams from Section 5 in their May 15th list. In Class A it's Pittsford in #6 right below Ithaca. Fairport
dropped from #8 to #12, Penfield is held at #17 just below Clarence of Section 6. West Islip (Section 11) tops the Class A list. They won the State Championship last year and have a winning streak of 36 as of May 15th.
In class B Irondequoit moved up from #7 to #6 just below Carthage (Section 3). Churchville-Chili moved up from #11 to #10 and Brighton continued to receive an honorable mention. The top slot goes to Jamesville-DeWitt (Section 3). JD won the State Title last year and has a current winning streak of 37 as of May 15th.
Penn Yan dropped from #3 to #5 in Class C, with Geneva moved up from #11 to #10 and Haverling took an Honorable Mention. Cazenovia (Section 3) takes over the the top place in Class C from Skaneateles.
