2019-04-23 - Penfield scored four unanswered goals to end the third quarter and begin the fourth quarter in their 7-6 overtime win against Victor.  The Patriots were down by three halfway through the third quarter before they began their scoring streak.  The fourth goal of the stretch gave Penfield the lead with 3:07 left on the clock and forced Victor to send the game into overtime.  In the first overtime period, Victor won the face-off, but could not get a shot on cage before Penfield cleared the ball upfield and scored on their first shot.  Max Hoadley scored his second goal of the game unassisted to give the win to the Patriots.

Victor started off strong with an unassisted goal from Camden Hay only 0:25 into the game.  Five minutes later, they added their second with Hay assisting Alec Russell.  The Blue Devils led 2-0 after the first quarter.  Penfield’s opening goal was also scored by Hoadley (again unassisted).  It took Penfield 17 minutes to get on the board.  Each team added one more goal before halftime with Joey Pezzimenti scoring for the Blue Devils and Jack Schlifke scoring for the Patriots.  The scored was 4-2 Victor at the half.

Victor scored the first goal of the third quarter with TJ Brei scoring unassisted with 8:47 left on the clock.  After that goal, Victor was held scoreless for almost 19 minutes until under 2 minutes remained in regulation.  During that period, the Penfield defense held them to 5 shots and all 5 were off the cage.  During the Patriot scoring stretch, Jackson Saulpaugh scored three of the four goals with Michael Mitchell scoring the fourth.  Saulpaugh’s final goal was the go-ahead goal and scored with 3:07 remaining.  Pezzimenti’s second goal of the night sent the game into overtime with 1:39 left on the clock.
