Newark Holds off Late Gates Chili Push

2019-03-27 - Newark scored the first three goals in their 5-4 win over Gates Chili and never gave the Spartans a chance to tie up the game.  The Reds were led in scoring by Matt Card (4g).  Kyle Martinez scored the game opener (unassisted) before Card finished out the scoring with four straight goals for Newark.  The Spartans were led by Kyle Krystan with 2g-1a.  The opening goal for Gates Chili was scored when Zane Tuller assisted Blake Palozzi with 10:45 remaining in the second quarter.  Krystan then responded with two back to back goals in the third and an assist in the fourth to Anthony Nguyen.  Although the Spartans scored the last two goals, they never tied up the game and Reds ran out the clock.
