Monday: Seeding Holds in Out Brackets - Mynderse Wins in OT
There were no upsets in the Section Five tournaments in the out bracket rounds as the higher seeded teams won in each case. Mynderse had a close one with Livonia, winning 10-9 in overtime.

Tuesday: Brighton Takes Thomas and AQ wins in OT
Brighton`s Brady McDermott scored with 0:59 remaining in regulation to secure a 14-13 win over Webster Thomas. Aquinas used two overtime periods to secure their win from Canisius as all but one team in the section played games today.

There were four games played today. Penfield had a tough one with Smithtown West although there were some good moments.

Tuesday: Victor Takes Irondequoit, Fairport Defeats Penfield
Finally, there were a number of close games played in the section today. Victor held off a last minute attack by Irondequoit to hold on to a 7-6 win. Hilton beat the Lightning 8-6, McQuaid came back hard to beat Livonia 14-13 in overtime.

Saturday: Fairport over C-C, Thomas takes Webster Win
It was a beautiful day for lacrosse and six games were played. Most of the games were overmatches, with the closest game being Marcus Whitman over Wayne 8-4.

Saturday: Season 2011 Begins in the Cold
The 2010 season ended on June 12th in warm weather as Fairport ended Section Five play in the NYS championship game. The first day of the 2011 was played in freezing temperatures between 21 and 32 degrees, but in generally clear and sunny skies.

Tuesday: CA, AQ and R-H all Winners in Overtime.
Canandaigua beat Penn Yan 12-11, Aquinas beat Livonia 9-8 and Rush-Henrietta beat Churchville-Chili 9-8 and each game was won in overtime. The others winning games today were Penfield, Geneva, Thunder, Batavia, Thomas, Irondequoit, Schroeder, Brockport, Mynderse, Hilton, Bloomfield-Honeoye, McQuaid Jesuit and Brighton.

Saturday: No More undefeated teams
Brighton, Section V's last undefeated team, fell to a stoked up team from McQuaid Jesuit who won 9-6. Fairport defeated the strong Section III teams from Jamesville-DeWitt and Penfield beat West Seneca East (Section VI).

Thursday: Many One Goal Games
Ithaca (Section IV) used overtime to defeat Irondequoit 7-6 this afternoon. Other close games included Penfield 8-7 over Hilton, Pal-Mac 6-5 over Midlakes, Pittsford 8-6 over McQuaid Jesuit and Gates Chili 6-4 over Spencerport. Other winners included Aquinas, Mynderse, Penn Yan and Canandaigua.

Sat - Irondequoit and R-H win big games
There were big wins today for Irondequoit (over Schroeder) and Rush-Henrietta (over Fairport), while Thomas won an OT victory over Eastridge and Penfield used a last quarter push to beat Pittsford. Other winners today included HFL, C-C, Brockport, GC and Brighton.

With league games the mainstay, winners included Fairport or Penfield, Schroeder over RH and Irondequoit over Pittsford. Other winners included Brockport, Spencerport, CC, Thomas. HFL and McQuaid Jesuit.

Wayne 9 - Geneva 8
Wayne scored five of the first six goals and held off a late push by Geneva to defeat the Panthers 9-8. The Panthers scored the first goal with Kyle Cosentino scoring unassisted. Four minutes later Wayne scored their first goal. Jon Ecker assisted Jake Moss with 5:13 remaining in the opening quarter.
