The Warriors, who had trailed since halfway through the third quarter, forced the tie with 1:18 left on the clock. Penfield scored the opening goal of the game. Peter Schwab scored unassisted with 8:09 remaining in the first quarter.

After trailing 1-0, Pittsford scored four straight goals to take the lead for good. The Panthers kept up their scoring and, even though the Patriots scored late to make the score closer, they defeated Penfield 12-9. The Patriots scored the final four goals to decrease the deficit to only three goals. Pittsford`s largest lead was 12-5 at the end of the third quarters.
