# 2938 2019 All Tournament Teams The All Tournament Teams for 2018 were announced at each final on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Most Valuable Player in Class A was Colin Peers (Fairport), in Class C, Sam Miller (Geneva), in Class D, Connor Fingar (Penn Yan) and in Class B, Jack LaRue (Victor). Players were selected on the basis of their performances in the Section Five Tournaments. |
# 2926 Penn Yan Secures 24th Win Penn Yan came back in overtime to defeat Pal-Mac 10-9 to win their 24th Sectional Title. The Mustangs trailed early in the contest before taking a one goal lead into the break. They held that lead into the fourth, when Pal-Mac scored the final two goals of regulation to force overtime. The Red Raiders had the first overtime offensive opportunity after winning the draw; however, they could not get a shot off on cage before Penn Yan got the ball upfield on an errant pass. The Mustangs scored with 0:05 left in the first overtime period with an inside dodge by Colton Smith. Smith was named to the All Tournament Team. |

# 2879 Fairport Hands JD Their First Loss Saturday: DAY IN REVIEW: Fairport defeated Jamsville-DeWitt for the second straight season with a 10-9 win in the first overtime period. Colin Peers scored his third goal of the afternoon to give the Red Raiders the victory. Over the past eleven years, JD and Fairport have faced off once a year. The Rams were on a five year streak before the Red Raiders defeated them last year 14-12. |
# 1369 Wayne Wins Sixth Annual Cradle for the Cure In the second game of the Girls-Boys Double Header of the "Cradle for a Cure" program, the boy’s of Wayne defeated Pal-Mac 17-9. This marked the sixth annual "Cradle for a Cure" matchup to support a local family and Camp Good Days and Special Times. The local fundraising/awareness event is currently in its sixth year. # 1346 Penfield Takes down West Islip SATURDAY: DAY IN REVIEW: Local games were postponed due to cold and sometimes snowy weather. Thre out of town games, however were played as the vacation week came to an end. Penfield used the last quarter to get their 9-7 win against West Islip (Section 11). Pal-Mac lost to Cathedral Prep (Erie, PA) and Pittsford lost to Baldwinsville (Section 3). |
# 1265 Pal-Mac Comes Back in the Fourth Section Five representative Palmyra-Macedon defeated Section Six representative Grand Island 8-6 in the Western Regional Championship. The Red Raiders trailed for a significant portion of the game before mounting a four goal comeback in the final quarter. Pal-Mac held the Vikings scoreless for the final 13 minutes. James Blazey led the Red Raiders in scoring with 2g-1a. |
# 1256 Pal-Mac Wins First Sectional Title Pal-Mac won their first even Section Five Championship with a 16-11 win over Honeoye Falls-Lima. The Red Raiders lead for nearly the entire game. The Cougars took an early lead; however, Pal-Mac took over late in the first quarter and slowly increased their lead for the remaining three quarters. At the largest difference, the Red Raiders led by eight. In addition to the boys, Pal-Mac girls also won the Section Five Championship with a 16-5 win over Penn Yan (HERE). |
