Thrilling Finishes and Dominant Performances

DAY IN REVIEW: FRIDAY - Seven games were played today, with one providing nail-biting drama. Pittsford edged out Fayetteville-Manlius in an overtime thriller, securing a 12-11 victory behind Avery Valenti’s seven-goal showcase and Jahyden Maiorani’s clutch game-winner. MARCUS WHITMAN-10 at WATERLOO-6 - Marcus Whitman took control early and held off Waterloo to win 10-6. Clark led with five goals, while Blueye added three. Freshman Freida scored his first varsity goal. Speers recorded twelve saves with a sixty-seven percent save rate. HAVERLING-6 at MYNDERSE-ROMULUS-25 - Mynderse-Romulus secured a win over Haverling with a strong offensive performance, spreading goals across nine players. Jack Brady led with six goals and two assists, while Griffin Hilimire recorded three goals and six assists. Haverling's Gavin Price and Maclain Wright contributed four of their team’s six goals. HFL at Irond

HFL-4 at IRONDEQUOIT-11 - Irondequoit secured an 11-4 win over HFL in a non-league matchup Friday night. Ryan Avery, Cooper Moore, and Doug Velepec led Irondequoit with three goals each, while goalie Sven Habitzreuther recorded 14 saves at a 78% save rate. HFL’s scoring came from four different players, with Jason Bennett making 11 saves in net. Senior Andrew Scully won 17 of 18 face-offs, marking his 205th career win. PITTSFORD-12 at FAYETTEVILLE-MANLIUS-11 in overtime - Pittsford earned a 12-11 victory over Fayetteville-Manlius, with HFL at IrondAvery Valenti leading the attack with seven goals. Jahyden Maiorani scored the game-winner, and goalie Bear Wehrheim stopped nine of eleven shots. Fayetteville-Manlius was led by Henry Dougherty’s three-goal performance, while Randal Hearn contributed two goals and three assists. SCHROEDER-1 at THOMAS-14 - Thomas won its MC-D2 league matchup against Schroeder 14-1, scoring steadily across all four quarters. Schroeder's only goal came from Jonny May in the second quarter. Midfielder John Caricati won nine face-offs, bringing his career total to 208. In goal, Van Bolton recorded a 52% save percentage. BRIGHTON-19 at AUBURN-12 - Brighton HFL at Irondearned a 19-12 win over Auburn, maintaining their lead throughout the game. Gavin Parks scored five goals, while Ben Marangola and Austin Flaum contributed multiple points. Goaltender Logan Serve recorded five saves, and Henry Werzinger excelled in faceoffs. NEWARK-20 at BISHOP KEARNEY-13 - Newark defeated Bishop Kearney 20-13 in a non-league game. Sam Underhill led Newark with ten goals and two assists, while James Scantleburry scored six goals and one assist for Bishop Kearney.
