Schroeder - Looks to Hauman and Ruffalo

Schroeder 2022

Class B - Monroe County League

Schroeder had a very young team last year and paid their dues, so they expect that this year there will be a payoff as they return their two offensive leaders who, among others, are strong and ready to play.

SchroederNick Hauman (27g-17a) is a senior midfielder set to play at Towson next year. In three games this year he leads the team with 8g-4a.  Also in the midfield is senior Tyler Gould (3g-5a) who according to Coach Mordaci is a "great two-way middy who can score and play defense and face-off. Has one of the best sticks on our team." Colton Ugine is a junior midfielder (4g-4a) who " has a strong understanding of offensive concepts and is a great on-field communicator."

Senior Brad Ruffalo (32g-3a) was an 81% shooter last year and is back in the attack. He "is great in tight and has wonderful vision of the field." He will be playing at D`youville next year.

Sophomore defenseman Ben Cook had 13gbs and 4tks last year as a freshman. "Ben is a leader on our defensive unit. Strong and physical and understands team defensive concepts very well."  Junior LSM/D Drew Pagano (41gbs-23tks) is back. He has already recorded 15gbs and 8tks in three games this year. Coach Mordaci says "Drew is a tenacious long pole who can help create turnovers and get transition started for our offense."

Having lost goalie Jack Leach to graduation, the Warriors will look to sophomores Casey Berns and Steven Redlinski. Casey has had most of the time thus far this year and has made 33svs (57%).

With a Monroe County D2 schedule the Warriors play Canandaigua, Brighton, Spencerport, Victor and Penfield. Coach Mordaci has added crossover games with Pittsford, Fairport, R-H, Hilton, and Greece and non-league games with Irondequoit, Livonia-Avon, and McQuaid Jesuit

Coach Mordaci sums it up. "Our players and coaches have been working hard to bounce back from what was a tough 2021 campaign. We were very young and inexperienced last year, and now we have an opportunity to take the lessons we learned last year and apply them this year to be more competitive. Our players are committed and dedicated to improving every day, and I am excited to see where that will lead us."
