Mynderse The New Coach is the Old Coach

Mynderse 2022

Class D - Finger Lakes League

MynderseHead Coach Joe Caraher is not only a proud alumnus but also was the Blue Devils` coach for fourteen years before agreeing to return to the sidelines for the 2022 campaign.

When previous head coach Scott Sciera left after eight seasons, he took two offensive seniors and his goalie. Gino Poretta had 203 saves (57%) last year and Colin Ryan scored 15g-1a for the Blue Devils.

Last year`s team was very young with eight freshman accounting for the majority of the 91 points scored.

There are only three seniors on this squad (and no juniors). Senior attackman Mitchell Dekanski (11g-2a) will be leading fourteen sophomores and two freshmen. A/M sophomores Lucas Stevers (10g-7a) and Dylan Tandle (8g-8a) saw a good amount of time on the field but will need to help get control of offensive opportunities.

In the defense Joey Andrews returns after missing last year to an injury. Sophomore defensemen Dylan Pundt and Matthew Mahoney are expected to help protect sophomore Logan Pettingil in the goal

Coach Caraher knows the game and how to develop players. "They are a very young group, but they are motivated and hard working. We will look to keep improving as the year goes on and be playing our best lacrosse in May."

The Blue Devils play a full Finger Lakes schedule and they have added a couple of games with Bishop Kearney.
