Class B - Monroe County League

Irondequoit has been struggling but Head Coach Aaron Bottazzo remembers from his own playing days on the fields at Irondequoit what it takes, and he is working to get the Eagles back on track. He will be helped some this year with the MC-3 alignment, but Coach Bottazzo knows that his teams need to play tough competition to battle within the very tough Class B ranks, so he will play both Penfield and Thomas before the tournament.

The Eagles will miss Ronnie Garrow (25g-13a), Mason Pease (9g-6a Pittsburg), and Yavin Stefano (10g-4a Vassar). Also gone are defenseman James Hyde (Mercyhurst) and defensive midfielder Brandon Zimmer.

There are, however, quite a few players returning for this year's campaign. Senior attackman Noah Gibson returns as last year's leader in goals, assists and points (31g-15a) and was a first team all-league pick headed to St. Rose next year. Also in attack expect to see junior Aiden Greco who is looking for a standout year as he gets ready for college ball. Jonah Carrier received an honorable mention as a freshman and will return to the midfield where Coach Bottazzo feels "should have a major impact at the faceoff circle as well as on offense." Senior defenseman Rilee St. Croix returns to lead the defense in front of junior goaltender Nick Lepiani, who started last year against Pittsford and had a great effort.

Coach Bottazzo is excited about this team. "We are really excited to hit the field with the group we have this year. The boys have put in a lot of work this off season and we will be looking to make some strides this year and get progressively better throughout the season."

The Eagles will have an excellent test when they open at Pal-Mac on April 5th.
