Tortora Hits 150 Goals as Spencerport Tops East Aurora
EAST AURORA-5 at SPENCERPORT-12 - Spencerport stayed unbeaten with a 12-5 non-league win over East Aurora on Saturday at home, building an 8-0 lead through the first two quarters before East Aurora scored five of the final nine goals. Spencerport has now won all five meetings against East Aurora since 2022.
For Spencerport (3-0), senior midfielder Zach Tortora reached 150 career varsity goals, finishing with five goals on the day to push his total to 153. Sophomore attackman Gavin Brown added two goals, while Mason Endres, Patrick Keady, Brody Kaye, Maddox Harding, and eighth-grade attackman Carter Cirella each added one goal. Cirella scored his first varsity goal in his debut. Junior Brody Kaye also surpassed 100 career caused turnovers. Freshman Luke Kaye went 12-for-21 at the faceoff dot (57%), and sophomore goalie James Newtown stopped five shots for a 63% save percentage in 42 minutes.
