HFL Tops Churchville-Chili in D-3 Opener
HFL opened its Monroe County D-3 season with a 13-3 win over Churchville-Chili on Tuesday at Fairbanks Elementary School. The Cougars scored four goals in each of the first three quarters to build a commanding lead. The series between the two programs now stands at 11-10 in favor of Churchville-Chili all-time.
With no report available from HFL (1-0), the scoring table shows Marco Vengoechea leading the way with nine goals and four assists, Alexander Meisenzahl adding two goals, and Jackson Coon contributing two goals and one assist. Tanner Olin added two goals and Cash Arena chipped in one assist.
For Churchville-Chili (0-2), sophomore midfielder Patrick Callahan scored one goal and one assist, both career firsts, and eighth grade attackman David Donaghue scored his first career varsity goal. Goalie Dominic Marra stopped one of two shots (50%) over 12 minutes for the Saints.
HFL will travel to Haverling on Friday, March 27 at 6:30 PM. Churchville-Chili will host Wayne on Thursday, March 26 at 5:30 PM.
