Hilton Takes D-1 Win Over Greece Storm
HILTON-25 at GREECE STORM-2- Hilton opened its Monroe County D-1 season with a 25-2 win over Greece Storm on Tuesday, March 24, at Arcadia High School. The Cadets scored eight goals in the first quarter and nine more in the second to take a 17-2 halftime lead, including a run of 13 consecutive goals. Eleven different players found the net for Hilton, which improved to 8-0 all-time against Greece Storm dating back to 2018.
Leading Hilton (2-0) were senior midfielder Anthony Mitrano (5g), sophomore attackman Drew Brien (4g-2a), sophomore attackman Tyler Reger (3g), senior midfielder Jack Palmer (2g-1a), sophomore face off midfielder Lucas Grizzanti (2g-1a), sophomore attackman Cahlan Smith (2g-4a), and sophomore attackman Brady Graves (2g).
Junior attackman Cam Wilson scored two goals — both his first career varsity scores. Junior attackman Trypp Hilbert and sophomore Lucas Grizzanti each recorded their first varsity assists, and senior Kyle Taddeo added one assist. In goal, sophomore Brendan Maxwell was perfect with one save over 12 minutes, and senior Owen Harnden stopped four of six shots (67%) over the final 36 minutes. For Greece Storm (0-1), senior attackman James Maccallini scored both goals, while senior Eric Odell won 16 of 21 faceoffs (76%), pushing his career faceoff win total to 503.
