Tuesday: Mike Torrelli Wins 250th Game at Fairport

DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - Fairport Head Coach Mike Torrelli won his 250th game today as the Red Raiders posted a 7-5 win over visiting Thomas. Brighton won a close one at Irondequoit and East-United won a close one at Brockport. HF-L won a close one at Schroeder and Canandaigua won their game against Spencerport.

Brighton at IrondequoitTHOMAS-5 at FAIRPORT-7 - In a game that saw Head Coach Mike Torrelli win his 250th game at Fairport, the Red Raiders led after the first quarter 3-2, but the Titans scored a lone goal before the half which ended in a 3-3 tie. Fairport took the led back in the third quarter with a lone goal and then added three more in the last stanza. Junior attackman Nicholas Fosegan scored his first Varsity goal for the Red Raiders. Also scoring for Fairport (3-1) were Sam Pucci (1g-2a), Mitchell Monte (2g), and Ryan Pedro (2g). Facing off for Fairport was freshman Marc Hillier with 5+/2- = 71%, and freshman Corey Roeser with 4+/3- = 57%. Goalie stats were unavailable at post-time. Fairport hosts Hilton on Thursday.

Brighton at IrondequoitBRIGHTON-7 at IRONDEQUOIT-6 - Brighton led in the close game for the first three quarters, but the Eagles scored four unanswered goals in the fourth quarter including three by Aidan Greco but was one goal short. Leading the scoring for Brighton (2-1) were freshman attackman James Holbrough (4g-1a), sophomore midfielder Gavin Parks (2a), sophomore attackman Miles McGuire (1g-1a), and junior attackman Aksel Stanat (1g-1a). Junior midfielder Sam Slaninka scored his first Varsity goal for the Bruins. In the goal was junior Thomas D`Angelo with 12s/6ga = 67% (48 mins). Brighton will host Gates Chili on Friday.

Leading the scoring for Irondequoit (1-2) were Greco (4g-1a), Jack Donovan (1g), and Dan Buckley (1g). Facing off for Irondequoit was junior Jonah Carrier with 15+/2- = 88%. NEWARK-8 at LIVONIA-AVON-15 - The Lakers took control early, leading 4-1 after one quarter and 6-3 at the half. A 6-2 lead in the third quarter put the Lakers ahead during the 3-3 final quarter. Leading the scoring for Livonia-Avon (3-0) were Hunter Rumfola (4g-1a), Max McEnerney (1g-3a), junior defenseman Owen Weterrings (2g-2a), Tanner Gray (3g). Junior midfielder Chris Thompson and senior A/M Maddox Olsen both scored their first Varsity goal for Livonia-Avon who will play at Marcus Whitman on Thursday.

Brighton at IrondequoitLeading the scoring for Newark (1-1) were Preston Steve (4g-2a), Sam Underhill (2g), Blake Steve (1g-1a), and senior defenseman Carlos Bueso (1g) who scored his first Varsity goal for the Reds. SPENCERPORT-4 at CANANDAIGUA-6 - The Braves scored first and despite numerous traded goals, held on to the lead throughout the game. Scoring for Canandaigua (4-0) were Sean Olvany (3g-1a), Nate Sheridan (2a), Drew Williamee (1g-1a), and Braden Gioseffi (1g). Facing off for Canandaigua was Luke McCrobie with 9+/4- = 69%  and Mason DePew with 1+/0- = 100%. McCrobie also added a goal. In the cage for Canandaigua was Jack Faiola with 10s/4ga = 71% (48 mins).

Brighton at IrondequoitMARCUS WHITMAN-1 at PENN YAN-13 -The Mustangs scored four goals in the first quarter and three in each of the remaining quarters as seven different players scored goals. Freshman midfielder Collin Bacher and 8th grade midfielder Mike Gigliotti both scored their first Varsity goal for Penn Yan. Also scoring for Penn Yan (1-2) were Teagan Fingar (4g-3a), Frank Ochoa (4g), and Carter Earl (1g-1a). In the goal for Penn Yan was Will Thompson with 5s/1ga = 83% (46 mins), and Aiden Griffiths with 1s/0ga = 100% (2 mins). Penn Yan is at Geneva on Thursday.

HILTON-15 at CHURCHVILLE-CHILI-5 -  Hilton had a run of 8 goals and seven different players scored goals in the game where the Cadets scored three goals in the first quarter and four each in the following three. Leading the scoring for Hilton (3-2) were Chase Wilson (5g-1a), Nicholas Fede (2g-3a), and senior midfielder Aiden Cawley (2g-2a). Freshman midfielder Anthony Mitrano scored his first Varsity goal for the Cadets. Facing off for Hilton was Michael Mitrano with 8+/2- = 80%, and Drew O`Buck with 10+/3- = 77%. In the goal for Hilton was senior Jason Mosher with 14s/5ga = 74% (48 mins).

HF-L-11 at SCHROEDER-10 - The Warriors came out first with a 4-1 lead after the first and a 5-2 at the half. They still led 7-5 after three quarters but poured on six goals in the last quarter to take the one goal win on the road. Leading the scoring for HFL (3-0) were Chase Perryman (3g-2a), Drew Angelo (2g-2a), and Quinn Kailbourne (2g-1a). Facing off for HFL was Drew Angelo with 22+/3- = 88%.
