Saturday: DAY IN REVIEW: There were two games on the first weekend of the season. Pal-Mac and McQuaid Jesuit were winners.

Churchville-Chili, under new Head Coach Chris Fiala took to the road and played their opener at Pal-Mac where, a six-goal run in the second quarter gave the Red Raiders and 10-6 win. After a 1-1 first quarter, Pal-Mac five unanswered goals in the second. Two were in man-up, the result of a random stick check that produced a two-minute advantage for Pal-Mac. The Saints scored just before the half, which ended with Pal-Mac up 7-2.

A fired-up Saints scored in the first twenty seconds of the third, which was offset by a P-M score at 8:47. It was the last score in the third which ended with the Red Raiders up 8-3.

Sophomore attackman Colin Duncan scored the first of his three fourth quarter goals in the first minute which Pal-Mac added two.

Red Raider junior attackman Mike Halsey, who controlled much of the offense from behind the cage, led the team with 5a. Seniors Damian Knaak and Quinn Nolan each had 3g-1a. Nolan who was demonstrative in the midfield won 17 of 18 draws and picked up 14gbs. Senior goalie Will Nichols recorded 9s/(60%) for Pal-Mac who will host Livonia-Avon next Friday. Duncan led the scoring of the Saints with 3g and senior midfielder Brett Seaman added 2a. Senior goaltender Chris TerHaar made 12s (55%) for Churchville-Chili who will host Williamsville North next Saturday. [BOX SCORE] - - More images in the photo gallery

McQuaid Jesuit gave their new Head Coach, Justin Ross his first win as they defeated host Orchard Park 10-3. Freshman faceoff specialist JP Gianforti won 16 or 17 draws for the Black Knights. Six different players made the offensive book with sophomore attackman Vincenzo Giangreco scoring 3g and sophomore midfielder Nick Bianchi scoring 1g-2a to lead McQuaid. Sophomore goalie Will Gordon recorded 9s (75%) for the Knights who will play St. Francis next Saturday. [BOX SCORE]
