--  SPORTSFIVE REPORT: Aquinas scored the first two goals, and although the score was tied, the Little Irish never trailed in their 5-3 win over Canisius. After a 12-11 overtime win the first time the two teams played, they both came into tonight with high expectations. The first quarter was a hard fought defensive battle which had Aquinas taking 5 shots at goal and Canisius taking 4 shots. Senior Bryce Kelly had two saves shutting out the Crusaders. The quarter ended at 0-0.

The second quarter started with the same defensive struggle until senior Jamir scored a goal with an assist from Nick Tschetter. One minute later Tschetter took the ball away from the Crusaders and ran the ball all the way across the field and hit a wide open Evan Kelly. Tschetter was a major factor in the game with 4 assists on five goals. The score was 2-1 at the half.

The third quarter brought more defense and Tschetter started with another take away from the Crusaders but the Irish were not able to capitalize. Canisius scored their second goal of the game with 5 minutes remaining in the quarter. With three minutes left in the third quarter defenseman Tyler Olbrich intercepted a pass from Canisius and ran all the way across the field and bounced a shot into the back of the net making it a 3-2 game. 0:45 later a broken play gave Canisius a fast break to tie the game 3-3.

With four and half minutes left in the final quarter Tschetter found Evan Kelly again for his second goal of the night making it a 4-3 game. The final goal was scored with the goalie out of the cage with Jones scoring off a Tschetter assist. Olbrich was the player of the game with 4 takes, 5 ground balls, two face off wins and one goal.
