Victor Scores Seven Unanswered in Win

After a close half, Victor pulled away and defeated Webster Schroeder 9-4.  The Warriors played a close fought quarter and a half before Victor scored seven unanswered goals spanning the last three quarters.  Victor opened up the soring with Mitchell Cain assisting Alexander Mabbett 1:09 into the game.  Schroeder responded with back to back goals to take the lead.  Jonathan Kay assisted Hunter Olsen for an outside midrange shot.  Three minutes later, Connor Bollin assisted Justin Connolly to the left flat.  The first quarter continued with back and forth attempts at the cage.  Neither team scored until Victor came off a dead ball with 0:02 remaining.  A quick pass onto the crease by Sam Lambert to Cain tied the game at 2-2 as time expired.

Victor at Schroeder In the second quarter, Schroeder scored first and put them back on top 3-2.  Bollin scored his first of his two goals with an impressive work around from behind the cage.  He used a single player effort to beat his defenseman and finish into the upper corner.  Bollin’s goal came with 10:31 remaining in the second quarter.  Victor’s defense kept the Warriors from scoring again for the next 30 minutes spanning three quarters.  During that time their offense added seven goals. 

A few goals stood out for the Blue Devils.  With 3:53 remaining in the second quarter, Cain found Clark Andre cutting from behind the cage.  He slipped the pass past multiple defenders and Andre finished into the back of the net.  The final Victor goal was scored with a drive along GLE by Joey Pezzimenti with 5:52 remaining in the fourth quarter.  The final goal of the game was Bollin’s second goal.  It was similar to his first goal in that it was another single player drive from behind the cage.

Goalie Chayse Ierlan for Victor recorded 7 saves between the pipes.  Faceoff midfielder Tucker Hill recorded a team leading five ground balls and was 6/11 at the draw.
