Gananda Opens Season with a 17-6 win over Amherst

SATURDAY: DAY IN REVIEW: The GRALL opened up today as McQuaid Jesuit under new Head Coach Terry Corcoran defeated the Haverling Rams 15-7 in an early morning game at Hobart College. Jack Bilitier led the Knights with 6g-1a while Jon added 4g-1 in the win.

Aquinas under new Head Coach Pat Olbrich won a 16-4 contest against visiting St. Francis (Section 6).

New Head Coach Tom MacMillan helped the R-H Royal Comets to a 14-2 win over Livonia-Avon as sophomore attackman Gunner MacMillan led the pack with 5g-1a and junior goalie Cameron Kuzniar posted 16 saves (87%) in the cage.

Gananda saw ten different players on the scorebook as they travelled to Amherst (Section 6) for a 17-6 win in the season opener for both teams. Leading the offense were senior attackman Brett Cunningham (4g-4a) and senior Henry Bush (5g-1a) while sophomore Jake Rapp added 1g-4a for the Blue Panthers. Senior face off specialist, Evan Smith won 17 draws (71%) and led the team with 13 ground balls. Senior goalie Jason Good played three quarters and recorded 9 saves (75%).

The newly combined Greece Storm opened their new season with an 18-2 at Medina. Senior offensive man Adrian Romero (4g-2a) and junior attackman Paul Forte (2g-4a) lead the offense with junior attackman Trevor Gilliard added 4g. Joe Wegman won 16 of 23 draws and led the team in takes with 5.
