Hilton Controls Fourth Quarter to win

Hilton took their first lead of the game with 6:12 remaining in the fourth quarter and held off Brighton’s attempt at a comeback to defeat the Barons 13-11.  Brighton played three strong quarters before Hilton took over in the fourth.  The Cadets scored five unanswered goals spanning just over 4 minutes in the final quarter to secure the win.

Hilton scored the opener to take their first lead with an unassisted goal from Jordan DePetres.  Brighton responded with four back-to-back goals by Brady McDermott (2) and Brett Randall (2).  Hilton kept pace with two of their own (Shawn Doran and Ben Mitrano).  Brighton scored again to press their lead and Hilton responded.  The Cadets could not pull ahead, but every time that Brighton attempted to put Hilton behind them, the Cadets fought back.

Brighton took the three goal lead for the second time of the match with the opening goal of the fourth quarter.  McDermott scored his fourth unassisted with 10:37 remaining to go up 10-7.  With 10:00 remaining on clock, Hilton started their five goal stretch.  Tyler Dalle, Mitrano, DePetres (2) and Doran scored for the Cadets.  Doran scored the final goal of the run at 5:58 only four minutes after Dalle scored the first goal.  Each team added one goal in the final two minutes, but Brighton could not force overtime.
