Pittsford Holds Fairport Scoreless in Fourth Quarter
Pittsford scored the last two goals of the game in their 8-5 win over Fairport. The Panthers held the Red Raiders scoreless for the final 15 minutes of the contest.
The Red Raiders scored the opening goal 1:33 into the game. Mitchell DiSanto scored unassisted for Fairport. 90 seconds later, Colby Barker scored to tie the game at 1-1. The game continued tied for 6 minutes before Fairport scored two goals to finish the quarter. The Red Raiders led 4-1 after 12 minutes. In the second quarter, Pittsford scored two goals and held Fairport scoreless. The score was tied 3-3 at the half.
In the second half, Fairport started off with a goal to put them back on top. Just over one minute later, Brennan Mooney scored to tie the game for the third time at 4-4. Barker scored his third goal to give the Panther’s their first lead of the game at 5-4 with 4:27 remaining in the third quarter. Both teams added a single goal to finish out the third quarter. The final goal of the game was scored with 0:53.
