Gananda led 6-3 going into halftime but then was held scoreless for the next twenty-four minutes. Wayne scored six goals in the second half and defeated the Blue Panthers 9-6. Wayne had eight different players make their scorebook. Goalie Justin Townsend finished with eight saves for the Screaming Eagles (57%). He also led him team in ground balls with four.

Zach Binggeli scored the first goal for Gananda with an assist from Nick Rapp. He finished with 1g-1a for the Blue Panthers. Two minutes later Cruz Mayberry scored the first of his two goals with an assist from Joe Fisher. Wayne kept the game close with two of their own. Nick Martin and Tim Oddi scored (with assists from John Bowman and Jake Moss). Mayberry scored his second to give Gananda the 3-2 lead going into the second quarter.

The second quarter belonged to the Blue Panthers who outscored the Screaming Eagles 3-1. Wayne scored the first goal (man-down) to tie the game with 10:38 remaining in the second quarter. Gananda scored the next three goals. Their final goal of the contest came with 2:49 remaining in the opening half.

In the second half, Wayne saw scoring from four different players. Bowman and Andrew Jenkins added two each with Moss and Chris Ecker scoring the additional two. In the cage for Gananda, Nicholas Smith finished with two recorded saves.
