Victor Advances to Class B Finals

- SPECIAL REPORT: Irondequoit vs VictoryVictor came back from a slow start in the first quarter with 11 unanswered goals spanning the first three quarters in their 16-9 win over Irondequoit.  Victor will move on to face Spencerport in the Class B Finals on Wednesday.  The Blue Devils were led in scoring by senior attackman Pax Marshall (4g-4a).  Senior attackman Sam Gotham finished with 5g for the Blue Devils.  For the Eagles, the scoring was much more spread out with four different players finishing with two goals each (Cooper Moore, Ryan Boe, Dan Buckley and Aidan Greco).  Moore (the only non-senior) of the scoring group is a freshman.

Irondequoit vs VictoryThe Eagles started off with strong control over the game.  They scored the first three goals and held the Blue Devils scoreless for nearly the entire first quarter.  Buckley started the scoring with a drive from behind the cage.  Less than a minute later an Moore scored his opener with a hard drive from the top right beating his defenseman.  With 0:59 remaining, Irondequoit scored their final goal until late in the third quarter.  Boe scored off a feed from Greco.  The Blue Devils got on the board with an unassisted goal by Thomas Gravino with only 0:15 left on the clock.  Irondequoit led 3-1 at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Victor held the Eagles scoreless while adding six of their own.  The two scores of note were a strong second opportunity by Gotham after the first shot was saved by Irondequoit goalie Nick Lepiane.  He picked up his own ground ball and finished into the back of the net on the second opportunity.  The second noteworthy goal was scored by junior Alden Clinkscales.  He drove from the side, but got turned back.  After resetting, he completed the drive on the second attempt.  The Blue Devils led 7-3 going into halftime.

Irondequoit vs VictoryThe third quarter was more of the same with Victor scoring the first four goals. Gotham added two more with Marshall and Gravino adding the other two.  Irondequoit got back on the scoreboard with an extra-man goal from Greco.   The scoring continued back and forth for the rest of the quarter with Victor holding the 14-6 win after three quarters.

In the fourth quarter, Victor scored the first two goals with goals from Gotham and Marshall.  Irondequoit finished out the game with the last three goals.  Moore added his final goal with Boe and Andre Bingham rounding out the scoring.  Both goalies struggled in the cage with Irondequoit goalie Nick Lepiane recording 4 saves and Victor goalie Brady Robinson recording 4 saves.  Victor moves on the Class B Finals on Wednesday.

Spencerport Advances to the Class B Finals

- SPECIAL REPORT: Schroeder vs SpencerportSpencerport moves on the Class B Tournament for the first time in program history after their 6-4 win over Webster Schroeder.  The Rangers scored the last four goals of the game and held the Warriors scoreless throughout the second half.  Goalie Taylor Kaye finished with five saves (1 in the second half) on the game for the Rangers.  For the Warriors, Casey Berns recorded 7 saves.

Schroeder vs SpencerportSpencerport scored the opener during a double man-up opportunity.  With two men down for 30 seconds, the Rangers took most of the time to head to the cage.  Just after release (before anyone could make it into play), sophomore Trevor Lewis scored with a feed from Jayden Rodriguez.  Four seconds later, Schroeder tied up the game for the first time.  Nate Schilling scored off a feed to the crease from Drew Pagano.  The last goal of the quarter was scored with 2:52 remaining in the quarter.  Spencerport’s Trevor Lewis scored his second off a feed from brother Dylan Lewis.   The Rangers led 2-1 after the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Schroeder took over control.  The Warriors added three goals and held the Rangers scoreless for 12 minutes.  Junior Nate Schilling was a part of all three goals during the quarter.  He assisted the first two with a dead ball feed to Colton Ugine followed by a loose ball pickup and feed to Brennon Robinson.  The third goal was a man-up goal that was assisted by Drew Pagano.  Schroder held a 4-2 lead going into halftime.

Schroeder vs SpencerportIn the third quarter, Spencerport scored back to back goals to tie up the game.  Both goals came within the first two minutes of play.  The first came with a drive down the left side by John Choate.  Less than a minute later a drive from the right side ended in a goal for Rodriguez.  The game was 4-4 going into the final quarter.

In the fourth quarter, Spencerport continued their control and added two more goals.  The Rangers scored with 0722 remaining with T. Lewis scoring off a feed from Rodriguez.  The final goal of the game came with 0:34 remaining on the clock.  The Rangers were two men-up and were attempting to run out the clock.  The first penalty released, and Zach Tortora found Jayden Mandarano open in the middle of the field.  Mandarano scored to put the Rangers up by two.  The Warriors won the draw and had one more attempt on offense; however, they could not capitalize.   Spencerport moves on to face Victor in the Finals on Wednesday.
