No joke, there was some exciting play in Section Five today, with Midlakes beating Livonia, East Rochester with their first ever win, Thunder taking out Eastridge and Thomas over Penfield in overtime. There were also some mismatch wins by Brighton, Fairport and Canandaigua.

# 2119  Tuesday: Out bracket Games for A and C - Gates Upsets Brockport

here were two upsets in the Class A out bracket as the 12th seeded Gates Chili beat the 5th seeded Brockport and the 9th seeded Hilton upset the 8th seeded Rush-Henrietta. Schroeder, Churchville and penfield all won their games as seeded. In Class C all the higher seeded teams won. Moving on are Batavia, Geneva, Midlakes, Haverling and Pal-Mac.

Thomas won a contest of heavyweights with a 18-6 victory over visiting Irondequoit. Rush-Henrietta was a 13-11 winner over Gates Chili and HFL won their game 11-10 over Eastridge. There were six games games on Tuesday. Brighton, who did not win a game in 2008, is now 2-0 after their 9-5 win over visiting Eastridge. Marcus Whitman, playing their first Varsity game in school history, was leading 6-2 before the Greece Lightning came back and won 8-6.
