Reger, Smith Each Score 3 as Hilton Ends Penfield's Streak
PENFIELD-6 at HILTON-12 - Hilton beat Penfield 12-6 Tuesday evening in a Monroe County D-1 game, extending the Cadets' winning streak to ten and moving to 12-1. Penfield moves to 10-4. The night's standout milestone belonged to Penfield senior Brodie Joyce, who scored two goals to become the all-time leading goal scorer in Penfield program history with his 137th career goal, surpassing the record held by Alex Miles since 2011. Joyce now holds the Penfield records for career goals, assists and points.
Tyler Reger and Cahlan Smith each led Hilton with three goals, with Reger adding an assist. Gianluca Auriuso added two goals and an assist, Jack Palmer scored two goals, and Kyle Taddeo chipped in two goals. Sophomore Drew Brien, who reached his 50th career goal earlier in the season, distributed three assists. In goal, sophomore Brendan Maxwell made 13 saves on 19 shots (68%) over 48 minutes.
For Penfield, Griffin Banister scored three goals and Joyce added two goals and an assist. Harrison Easton scored one goal and AJ Theodorakakos added an assist. Senior Colin Miller went 15 for 20 on faceoffs.
Hilton travels to Irondequoit on Thursday. Penfield hosts Irondequoit next week.
