Rodriguez Sets Team Faceoff Record
BATAVIA-NOTRE DAME-8 at TONAWANDA-12 - Tonawanda beat Batavia-Notre Dame 12-8 Monday evening in a non-league game. The Irish fell behind 10-3 after two quarters before rallying to outscore Tonawanda five to two in the second half. Junior Trey Rodriguez set a new Batavia-Notre Dame program record with his 200th career faceoff win, finishing 14 for 23 on the dot. Batavia-Notre Dame falls to 3-6. No stats were available for Tonawanda at post-time.
Junior Nolan Radley led Batavia-Notre Dame with three goals and an assist, while Rodriguez added two goals and an assist. Senior Aiden Kopper contributed one goal and one assist, and Cullam Finn and Cyrus D'Alba each scored one goal. Harold Mellander added an assist. In goal, senior Branden Flanagan played the first half and junior James Rachow made two saves on four shots (50%) over the final 24 minutes.
Batavia-Notre Dame travels to Newfane on Tuesday evening, May 5th. Tonawanda hosts Bloomfield-Honeoye on Saturday, May 9th.
