Landschoot`s 50th Goal Highlights Midlakes Win

NEWARK-4 at MIDLAKES-19 - Midlakes beat Newark 19-4 Saturday afternoon in a non-league game, extending its winning streak to five and moving to 6-3. Freshman Walker Landschoot reached 50 career goals, finishing with five on the day. Eleven different players scored for the Screaming Eagles, and Corbin Hughes and Jorge Garcia each recorded notable firsts — Hughes his first career varsity goal and Garcia his first career varsity assist. Newark's Hayden Bridger also picked up his first career varsity assist.

Landschoot led Midlakes with five goals, while senior Nate Lathrop added three goals and two assists. Junior James Sprague contributed two goals and three assists, Sam Kuhn added two goals and two assists, and Carter Casper chipped in one goal and three assists. Miles Kornbau added one goal and three assists. In goal, senior Stuart Quku made one save on one shot (100%) over 12 minutes, and sophomore Justin Mercado made six saves on 10 shots (60%) over 36 minutes

For Newark, Hayden Bridger, Tyler Urban and Nazeer Garcia each scored one goal and added an assist, while Evan Shulla added a goal. Senior John Camblin made 12 saves on 18 shots (67%) in goal over 36 minutes.

Midlakes travels to Wayne on Tuesday evening and Newark travels to Marcus Whitman on Thursday.
