Tuesday Thrillers: Heroics and High-Scoring Battles

DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - Eleven games took place today, with four delivering edge-of-your-seat action. Victor rallied past Hilton 8-6, overturning a halftime deficit with a dominant third quarter. HFL outlasted Rush-Henrietta 15-13 in a back-and-forth contest, fueled by McQ at IrondGrady Goodberlet’s explosive five-goal, five-assist performance. Brighton stunned Fairport 10-8, closing strong with three unanswered goals in the final quarter. Elsewhere, dominant showings saw teams like Geneva, Pal-Mac, and Penn Yan secure decisive wins, rounding out an action-packed day on the field. 

HAVERLING-5 at MIDLAKES-21 - Midlakes won their non-league matchup against Haverling with a 21-5 result, improving their record to 13-3. Nine players scored for Midlakes, with standout performances from Nate Lathrop and Carter Casper. Stuart Quku led the goaltending effort with a 64% save rate over 40 minutes. NEWARK-6 at GENEVA-21 -  Geneva controlled their matchup against McQ at IrondNewark with steady offensive production in a 21-6 win. Ryland Dunham led Geneva with eight goals and three assists, supported by Max Heieck with three goals and six assists. Newark's Sam Underhill and Evan Shulla each scored three times, but the team struggled in the second half. Geneva’s Brent Williams made nine saves with a 64% save percentage, while Alex Pesante won twenty-four face-offs. VICTOR-8 at HILTON-6 - Hilton and Victor battled in a close non-league game, with Victor winning 8-6. Hilton led at halftime but Victor’s four-goal third quarter turned the game. Leading scorers included Hilton’s Auriuso (two goals) and Victor’s Mead (three goals). MYNDERSE-ROMULUS-2 at PAL-MAC-19 - Pal-Mac remained undefeated this season with a 19-2 win over Mynderse-Romulus. Fleming scored his first varsity goal, McQ at Irondwhile Hilimire also added one for Mynderse-Romulus. Pal-Mac’s strong first half paved the way for their fifteenth consecutive win. MCQUAID JESUIT-9 at IRONDEQUOIT-13 - Irondequoit won 13-9 against McQuaid Jesuit. Moore led Irondequoit with eight goals, while Gianforti and Giangreco each had two goals and one assist for McQuaid Jesuit. SPENCERPORT-15 at SCHROEDER-10 - Spencerport secured a 15-10 victory over Schroeder in a non-league matchup. Zach Tortora led Spencerport with five goals and two assists, while Mason Endres contributed three goals and five assists. Schroeder’s Garrett Conger reached his 50th career goal, scoring four times with an assist. Despite a fourth-quarter surge from Schroeder, Spencerport maintained control throughout the match. CHURCHVILLE-CHILI-3 at PENN YAN-19 - Penn Yan defeated Churchville-Chili 19-3 in a non-league game, scoring 19 goals in the first two quarters. Leading scorers included Miles Ditzell and Tukker Fisher with four goals each, alongside Teagan and Braden Fingar combining for seven goals and six assists. Penn Yan’s goalies, Jaxon Jensen and Will Thompson, posted strong performances, while freshman Greyson Hathway won 18 of 22 faceoffs. RUSH-HENRIETTA-13 at HFL-15 - HFL defeated Rush-Henrietta 15-13 in a non-league contest, with Grady Goodberlet contributing five goals and five assists. The home team led early with six first-quarter goals, holding off Rush-Henrietta’s second-half rally. AQUINAS-6 at PENFIELD-15 - Penfield secured a non-league win over Aquinas on May twenty, finishing with a score of fifteen to six. Brodie Joyce led Penfield with six goals and one assist, while Aquinas’ top scorer was Noah Olbrich with three goals. Penfield’s goalie, Mason Schembri, recorded eleven saves with a sixty-five percent save rate. EAST UNITED-EASTRIDGE-6 at BISHOP KEARNEY-19 - Bishop Kearney won their non-league matchup against East United-Eastridge 19-6. James Scantleburry led with seven goals and one assist, while Matt Judge added six goals and three assists. Freshman goalie Ethan Cole recorded a 68% save rate with 13 stops. The team built an early lead and kept control throughout the game, with strong performances from Matson in faceoffs and other contributors on offense. BRIGHTON-10 at FAIRPORT-8 - Brighton defeated Fairport 10-8 in a close non-league matchup. Gavin Parks led Brighton with six goals, while Mitchell Monte and Ryan Priddy were Fairport’s top contributors. Brighton finished strong in the fourth quarter, scoring three unanswered goals to secure the win. Logan Serve made ten saves for Brighton, posting a 56% save rate.
