Six Players at Irondequoit sign NLI
Academics and athletics were celebrated today at Irondequoit High School as six seniors, who have been playing lacrosse together since the third grade, picked up their pens and signed their way to the next phase of their lives.
It was fitting they were all at one table, for ten years they have been pretty much together, working their way towards this moment.
With the stroke of a pen in unison, they signed their National Letters of Intent to play lacrosse next year.
Andrew Cordes will attend Towson University, Nick Doktor will go to the University of Pennsylvania, Connor Enright will attend Mercyhurst, Eric Fischer will go to Binghamton University, Gunnar Miller will attend West Point and Garrett Warren will attend Virginia Military Institute.
Miller said, "We've been playing together forever. We hang out on the weekend, we built team chemistry and it's been great this whole ride."
They are the heart of the Irondequoit lacrosse team. The six seniors have loved their sport and their school. With their GPAs in the 90's, they have won two sectional titles and will go for their third in the spring.
Head Lacrosse Coach Craig Whipple said, "They are a driven group not only on the field but in the classroom. They all excel and I think it's a standard that speaks to their character, how they push each other and achieve such goals."
