HFL Secures Win Over Marcus Whitman

HFL took control early in their non-league matchup against Marcus Whitman, finishing the first quarter with a seven-two lead. The scoring continued in the second quarter with nine more goals for HFL, extending their advantage. Marcus Whitman found the net once more in the third quarter, but HFL added one final goal in the fourth to close out the game at 17-3. Seven different HFL players contributed to the scoring effort, with standout performances from Grady Goodberlet (five goals, two assists) and Cash Arena (five goals). Marcus Whitman’s offense was led by Ayden Clark, who recorded two goals.

In goal for HFL, sophomore Jason Bennett recorded five saves and allowed two goals for a 71% save rate over 24 minutes, while senior Jackson Blythe added four saves with only one goal allowed, finishing with an 80% save percentage. Sam Jokl led HFL in faceoffs, winning 10 of 14 attempts. For Marcus Whitman, goaltender Tyler Speers finished with five saves in the full 48 minutes of play.

HFL extended their winning streak to five games, improving to a 5-1 record, while Marcus Whitman dropped to 1-2. HFL will host Brockport in their next game on Tuesday, while Marcus Whitman will take on Wayne earlier that same evening.   [ Story and BOX SCORE
