Trevor Hodgins Commits to Ohio State
Churchville-Chili rising junior attackman, Trevor Hodgins announced today that has made a verbal commitment yo play at Ohio State after his graduation in 2014.
The prolific offensive midfielder started playing on the Saints' Varsity team as an eighth grader, scoring 13g-8a. In his freshman season he added 30g-30a and last season he scored 38g-19a and was named to the Monroe County D3 All League first team midfield.
The Inside Lacrosse web site claimed that Hodgins was one of the more impressive players at the Syracuse Shootout, where he played for the Blaze Rising Junior team. "An explosive, compact player, Hodgins was one of the most impressive 2014 middies. . . He's quick, has a good stick that lets him go both right and left, and maybe the best part, he's a pretty good face-off guy."
Hodgins says he liked the large school size and Big Ten sports environment at Ohio State. He was excited about "the dedicated coaching staff" and felt the academics were a good fit for him. Before making the decision he considered Maryland, Syracuse and Michigan among others.
He joins fellow rising junior Bradley Voigt as members of the class of 2014 who have made verbal commitments. Voigt recently committed to attend Syracuse University.
