Geneva Outpaces Gates Chili

Geneva cruised to a decisive victory over Gates Chili with a 19-4 score in a non-league lacrosse game on Monday. Leading Geneva`s scoring was Ryland Dunham, who achieved six goals and celebrated his 100th career point. Max Heieck contributed five goals and four assists, while Jack Dunham added two goals and three assists. Sophomore Alex Pesante excelled at face-offs, winning eighteen out of twenty-seven attempts, a 67% success rate. Junior defenseman Nick Trickler tallied his first Varsity goal, adding to Geneva`s eight-player scoring lineup. In goal, senior Brent Williams delivered a flawless performance with one save and no goals allowed during his twelve minutes in net, while sophomore Owen Marquart made five saves against four goals for a 56% save rate.

Gates Chili`s effort was led by sophomores Gianni Salandy, Callaway Phommachanh, Joshua Yakowitz, and junior Jayden Maryjanowski, each recording one goal. Michael Alley added an assist to the team’s total. Despite their efforts, the Gates Chili goalie, sophomore Demar Williams, faced intense pressure with Geneva firing numerous shots on target, achieving twenty-two saves and a 54% save rate across forty-eight minutes.

Geneva, now 3-1, heads to Penn Yan this Saturday for their next game, while Gates Chili, with a 1-2 record, will host Batavia-Notre Dame on Thursday evening.     [ Story and BOX SCORE
