Hilton Edges Irondequoit in Tight Battle

Hilton secured a narrow 9-8 victory over Irondequoit in a closely contested non-league game on Thursday evening. Gianluca Auriuso led Hilton with two goals and one assist, including the game-winning goal in overtime. Additional contributions came from Tyler Reger and Braydon Pike, who each scored two goals, along with Drew Brien, Anthony Mitrano, and Jackson Maier, who added key points. In goal for Hilton, freshman Brendan Maxwell posted 14 saves and a 70% save rate across fifty-two minutes of play, while senior Sam Guzzetta recorded 60% save efficiency during his three-minute stint.

Irondequoit showcased balanced scoring with Cooper Moore notching three goals, Ryan Avery adding two goals and one assist, and Colin Giudice contributing one goal and two assists. Steven Clinkscales, Doug Velepec, and Hank Velepec also provided valuable offensive support. Senior goalkeeper Sven Habitzreuther made ten saves with a 53% save rate over fifty-six minutes in goal. Despite tying the game five times, Irondequoit fell short in overtime.

With this result, Hilton advanced to 2-1 for the season while Irondequoit slipped to 1-1. Both teams now prepare for their next matchups, with Hilton hosting Lake Shore on Saturday and Irondequoit welcoming Canandaigua.     [ BOX SCORE
