Tuesday: Hilton in OT - Coach Schembri wins 150th Game

Tuesday: DAY IN REVIEW: Long-time Penfield coach, John Schembri won his 150th game today at the Patriots defeated Churchville-Chili 15-8. Hilton used overtime to beat Thomas with a goal by senior attackman Nicholas Fede. McQuaid won their first series game against Rush-Henrietta. At Pittsford, the Panthers held off late advances by St Joseph and took the 8-7 win. Other winners were HF-L, Schroeder and Brockport who gave their Head Coaches a first win, East-United-Eastridge, Livonia-Avon and Spencerport.

CG at HFLSPENCERPORT-6 at WAYNE-3 - The first half of this game was close with the Rangers up 2-1 at the half, but three goals in the third quarter made all of the difference. Freshman midfielder Zachary Tortora scored his first Varsity goal in this game as did sophomore attackman Jayden Mandarano (2-1). Sophomore midfielder Jayden Rodriguez (2g), senior midfielder John Choate (2a), and senior midfielder Cameron Mesh (1a) who also won seven of nine faceoffs, also made the book for Spencerport. In the goal Taylor Kaye had 6s/3ga = 63%.

Leading the scoring for Wayne (0-1) were junior midfielder Alex Garrow (1g-0a), senior A/M Louis Profetta (1g), and junior midfielder PJ Ostrowski (1g). In the goal for Wayne was senior Dylan Coene with 10s/6ga = 63%. Tuesday.  [BOX SCORE]

GREECE STORM-5 at SCHROEDER-13 - Five goals in the third and another five in the last quarter gave Schroeder and new Head Coach Don Manard his first win with the Warriors. Leading the scoring for Schroeder (1-0) were junior attackman Nate Schilling (6g-2a), junior midfielder Anthony DeRosa (1g-6a), and senior midfielder Colton Ugine (4g-1a). 8th grade offensiveman Johnny May scored his first Varsity goal in the game.   Jonathan Bucciarelli made 15 saves in the cage.

Leading the scoring for Greece Storm (0-1) were Andrew Hill (2g-1a), freshman attackman James Maccallini (2g) who scored his first Varsity goal, and junior offensiveman Aiden Early (1g). Facing off for Greece Storm was freshman Eric Odell with 9+/7- = 56%. In the goal for Greece Storm was junior Jonathan Bucciarelli with 15s/13ga = 54% (45 mins).   [BOX SCORE]

LIVONIA-AVON-12 at HAVERLING-1 - The Lakers advanced their series record to 5-4 with their win over visiting Haverling. Livonia-Avon scored all twelve unanswered goals in the first three quarters. Leading the scoring for Livonia-Avon (1-0) were senior attackman Jackson McEnerney (4g-1a), sophomore A/M Max McEnerney (3g-1a), and senior midfielder Christian Rumfola (1g-2a). It was a first Varsity goal for Max McEnerney and also for sophomore midfielder Joey Cinquino and Junior Ryan Matzek. The Lakers are at Pal-Mac on Thursday.

Junior attackman Connor Brundage scored with an assist from sophomore Gavin Price. In the goal for Haverling was freshman McLane Stermole who made 17s/12ga = 59%. Haverling is at Aquinas on Thursday.  [BOX SCORE]

CG at HFLPITTSFORD-8 at ST. JOSEPH-7 - A couple of goals in the second quarter gave Pittsford an edge and despite an effort by St. Joe in the fourth quarter, the Panthers celebrated their season opener win. There were four ties in the game. Scoring for Pittsford were freshman midfielder Avery Valenti (2g-1a), senior midfielder Jackson Green (2g), senior attackman Rex Kesselring (2g), and senior midfielder Ben Steingass (1g).  There was no information for St. Joseph at post-time.    [BOX SCORE

GANANDA-8 at EAST UNITED-EASTRIDGE-9 - Senior attackman Cohyn Reisman scored his first Varsity goal as did junior defenseman Erik Wisnoski as the Blue Panthers played a close game but fell to EU-E in the opening game for both teams. Junior attackman Jacob Michaels (3g-2a), junior midfielder Brayden Dohse (2g), senior attackman Cohyn Reisman (1g-1a), and senior attackman Drew Smith (1g) also made the Gananda book.  There was no report from East United-Eastridge (1-0) at post-time.    [ BOX SCORE

HFL-19 at GATES CHILI-2 - Nine different players scored goals for HF including 8th grade attackman Grady Goodberlet and senior midfielder John Irvine who scored their first Varsity goals for the Cougars. Junior attackman Chase Perryman (4g-4a), senior offensiveman Braydn Trybuskiewicz (2g-4a), and sophomore attackman Mathew Brassie (2g-2a) led the scoring while face off specialist Drew Angelo won 17 or 19 draws. Junior midfielder Ben Cook won 5 of 5 faceoffs. HFL is at East United-Eastridge on Friday.

CG at HFLSophomore midfielder Oliver Sunday scored his first Varsity goal. Senior midfielder Jory Knauf scored the other goal while junior attackman Owen Curley and freshman midfielder Drew Ahlstrom each added an assist. PENFIELD-15 at CHURCHVILLE-CHILI-8 - Head Coach John Schembri won his 150th game at Penfield tonight as the Patriots took an 8-3 halftime in for the win at home. Leading the scoring for Penfield (2-0) were freshman attackman Brodie Joyce (5g-1a), junior attackman Ethan Aust (2g-3a), and junior midfielder Noah Ehret (1g-2a) who scored his first Varsity goal. Penfield hosts Rush-Henrietta on Thursday.

Leading the scoring for Churchville-Chili (0-1) were junior attackman Colin Duncan (2g-1a), junior midfielder Cameron Gefell (2g-0a), senior midfielder Camron Taylor (2g-0a), senior face off midfielder Brock Osborne (1g-1a), and freshman attackman Jaxon Leonard (1g-0a). Facing off for Churchville-Chili was senior Brock Osborne with 4+/3- = 57%.    [ BOX SCORE

HILTON-9 at THOMAS-8 in overtime - Senior attackman Nicholas Fede scored the overtime game winner for Hilton with an assist from Robert Taddeo with 00:02:33 left in overtime. There were for ties in the close game that saw the teams tied at 4-4 at half-time. Three goals by Hilton in the third gave them a lead with they held until Nicolas Ange tied the game with 0:33 left in regulation. 

Leading the scoring for Hilton (1-0) were senior midfielder Aiden Cawley (3g-1a), junior midfielder Robert Taddeo (1g-2a), and senior attackman Nicholas Fede (2g). Facing off for Hilton was sophomore Drew O`Buck with 8+/3- = 73%, and junior Michael Mitrano with 7+/2- = 78%. In the goal for Hilton was senior Jason Mosher with 11s/8ga = 58% (48 mins). CG at HFLMCQUAID JESUIT-8 at RUSH-HENRIETTA-5 - The Knights won their first series game against R-H after taking a 5-2 lead at halftime and those three goals were the difference as the teams matched points in the second half. Leading the scoring for McQuaid Jesuit (1-0) were senior midfielder Henry Coke (1g-3a), sophomore midfielder AJ Quagrello (3g), senior midfielder Chris Woodard (2g-1a), and junior attackman John Harding (2a). In the goal for McQuaid Jesuit was junior Will Gordon with 11s/5ga = 69% (48 mins). 

Leading the scoring for Rush-Henrietta (0-1) were senior offensiveman Jett Richardsen (1g-1a) who scored his first Varsity goal, junior attackman Cody Coleman (1g), senior midfielder Mike Valent (1g), senior attackman Justin Dey (1g), freshman midfielder Ronin Walker (1g), and senior offensiveman Makai Hillmon (1a).    [ BOX SCORE
