Thursday: DAY IN REVIEW: After a 1-1 first quarter, Waterloo scored three unanswered goals against Midlakes-Red Jacket to take a 4-1 lead into the halftime break. The Screaming Eagles came back in the third with three unanswered goals to tie the game 4-4. After many trips up and down the field, Waterloo scored two goals to finish with a 6-4 win in their season opener. Junior attackman Cody Loucks had 2g and Colby MacCheyne, Peter Shangraw and Scott Verdehem each had 1g-1a for Waterloo. Junior goalie Raymond Jones had 15s (79%) for the Indians who will play Batavia-Notre Dame on Saturday. There was no report from Midlakes-Red Jacket at post time. The first half of the Gananda at Gates Chili was close with each team scoring one goal in the first and seconds quarters. After the break the Spartans scored six goals while holding Gananda to two for the 8-4 win. Senior middie Blake Fennell led the scoring for the Spartans with 3g-2a. Owen Curley added 2g and three others had one goal each. In the cage senior goalkeeper Nathan Weise recorded 9 saves (69%) for Gates-Chili who will play Newark on Tuesday. Newark had a 16-0 win at Batavia-Notre Dame tonight. Preston Steve led the team with 7g-5a while Tyler Deline and Sam Underhill both had 3g-1a. Senior goalie Caleb Cady-George had the shutout with four saves and had a coast-to-coast goal as well. [BOX SCORE].

Livonia-Avon took a 16-4 halftime score to a 20-7 GRALL win at Haverling to tonight as senior attackman Derrick Wigley scored 6g-2a and Justin Skelly added 4g-2a. Matthew Connor won 11 of 13 faceoffs for the Lakers who will play Pal-Mac on Friday. Senior attackman Jamie O`Neil led the scoring for the Rams with 4g-3a who will play Mynderse on Saturday.
