(From Release): Friends of Mike Pane are doing a fundraiser for their scholarship fund (read below). Hoodies and T-Shirts are available to order with all proceeds going to the Mike Pane Memorial Scholarship Fund. An order form is available.

Mike Pane was a 2004 graduate of Canandaigua Academy where he was an outstanding Lacrosse and Football player. After graduating from Binghamton University, Mike began substitute teaching at CA and coaching Boys Lacrosse. He was on the coaching staff of the 2009 State Championship team. At this time Gananda had started a new Boys Lacrosse program and Mike was offered the position as Head Coach. His plan was to continue coaching Lacrosse, finish Graduate School and become an English Teacher.

Unfortunately, Mike was diagnosed with Brain Cancer in May of 2010. He underwent surgery, radiation and chemotherapy and returned to work in the fall. Mike continued to have seizures as a result of the changes to his brain, but Mike was a fighter! He worked hard and continued to do what he loved for as long as he was able. In 2016 his Cancer returned and he lost his battle with Brain Cancer on September 19th 2016.

The "Friends of Mike Pane" started a scholarship fund in his honor. We give two annual scholarships in the amount of $500 to Student athletes at both Canandaigua Academy and Gananda. In addition, we will also be making donations to the lacrosse boosters at each school in Mike's honor.
