Friday: Penn Yan, Penfield and HF-L Win
Penn Yan, Penfield and HF-L were the winners on Friday. Penn Yan won the annual rivalry with a 7-3 win over visiting Canandaigua. Penfield scored three unanswered goals in the first to help win their game against the Long Island team from Lindenhurst 12-11. HF-L won their game with Rush-Henrietta 10-5.

-- The Mustangs scored the first four goals in the game over a span of the first half and added three more in the second half as they defeated Canandaigua 7-3 in Penn Yan tonight. The long-standing rivalry has been maintained since Penn Yan left the Finger Lakes League for an Independent schedule.
Leading the offensive books for the Mustangs was sophomore attackman Rion Davison with 3g-1a. Bradley Voigt and Dylan Yonts both added 2g-1a while Corey Grace added an assist. Sophomore Goaltender Brandon Maciejewski recorded 16s (84%) for the Mustangs who improved their record to 6-0. Penn Yan will host McQuaid Jesuit on Tuesday.
Senior midfielder Nick Como won 8 of 12 face offs for the Braves. Three different players scored for CA. Junior goalie Michael Cuciti made 11 saves (61%) for Canandaigua (1-3) who will host HF-L on Tuesday.

-- Three unanswered goals in the first quarter made a significant difference for Penfield in their 12-11 defeat of Lindenhurst (Section 11). Senior midfielder Matt Bilak scored the opening goal for the Patriots with an assist from Matt Condon at 8:25. Condon, a senior midfielder, led the Penfield scoring with 3g-3a, including the winning goal (unassisted), with 1:54 left in the game. Senior middie Jacob Aldrich added 3g and Andrew Huntington and Andrew Schoeneck both added 2g for the Patriots (4-1). Penfield hosts Rush-Henrietta on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs rallied in the second quarter but never led. Lindenhurst (2-5) returns home to Long Island to play Ward Melville on Tuesday.

Five players from HF-L made the offensive book. Leading the effort was junior middie, Nick Weston (1g-3a). Senior attackman Drew Tallon and junior attackman Connor Flaherty both added 3g. Junior attackman Chandler Clarke scored a goal and added two assists for the Cougars. In the cage for the Cougars was senior goalie Nick Beniamino who made 11 saves (69%). HF-L travels to Canandaigua on Tuesday night.
Sophomore attackman Matt Hair led the offensive book for the Royal Comets with 2g-1a. Junior goalie McKenzie Spooner recorded ten saves (50%) for R-H (2-1) who travel to Penfield on Tuesday.
