Thursday: Fairport, Waterloo and Victor Win
Victor, Fairport and Waterloo were winners on Thursday. Fairport won a 13-2 victory over visiting Webster Thomas. Waterloo took East Rochester 12-9 and Victor beat Spencerport 14-8.

-- Fairport scored twelve unanswered goals spanning all four quarters in their 13-2 win over Webster Thomas. The Titans scored the first goal of the game with Jake Giudice sending the ball to the crease where John Hill finished into the back of the net. The Red Raiders scored three goals in each of the first three quarters before adding four in the final quarter.
Fairport scored two man-up goals on three attempts. Both goals were scored by Pat VanBortle and assisted by Jay Vakiener. VanBortle finished with 3g and Vakiener finished with 2g-2a. Of note for Fairport was defenseman Keith Mierzwa. He finished with a team leading five ground balls as well as four one-on-one takes. He was a force in the close defense as well as during clears. Face-off man Shane Stickle also finished with five ground balls for the Red Raiders. For Thomas, midfielder Troy Crevier finished with five ground balls and led his team.
Fairport's defense stepped up for the game. They held the Titans to 54% clear percentage and only 11% of their shots resulted in goals. Conversely, the Red Raiders cleared at 82% and had 33% of their shots resulting in goals. In the cage for Fairport, Blaze Riorden played the first 38 minutes and recorded seven saves. Pete Gropp finished out the game and recorded two saves. The Titans played three goalies. John Bezek played the first half and finished with five saves, Alex Gulisano played the majority of the second half and recorded three saves and Jake Altmire played the final two minutes of the contest but did not face a shot.

-- Victor scored five of the first six goals and never trailed in their 14-8 win over Spencerport. The Blue Devils had nine different players make the offensive scorebook. Leading the charge for Victor was senior midfielder John Maloney (3g-2a). TJ DiSanto (3g), Mitch Rupp (2g-1a) and Sam Byassee (1g-2a) also made significant contributions. Maloney finished the game leading in shots 11 shots (5 on cage) and 10 ground balls. The Blue Devils split goalies after the third quarter. Chris Saar started the game and recorded nine saves. White, Troy Dowdle finished out the game with two saves.
Spencerport had five different players make the offensive scorebook. Leading for the Rangers was Matt Kaser (3g-1a) and Jeff Nitti (3g). Nitti led in shots with 14 (7 on cage). Face off man Seth Miller finished 17/24 (71%) and led his team in ground balls with 14. In the cage for the Rangers, Tyler Schweikert recorded 11 saves.

-- Waterloo scored the first goal of the game and never trailed in their 12-9 win over East Rochester. Tim Wright scored the first goal of the game unassisted only 1:28 into the contest. Wright finished the game with 4g for the Indians. East Rochester kept the game close with their first goal one minute later. Clayton Vaughn scored with an assist from Raymond Shalvoy.
The game took off in the second quarter as Waterloo added six goals and held the Bombers to only two. Each of the goals was scored by a different player: Dominick Sindoni, Mike Wright, Brenn Solomon, Tim Wright, Trevor Black and Elliott Messmer each scored one goal. In the cage for Waterloo, Josh Bailey finished with seven saves.
For East Rochester, Liridon Dervisholli played the first half and did not record a save. Jonathan Caton finished out the game and recorded eight saves.
