For the first time, Section Five Lacrosse has selected first and second team All-Section players. The 2011 first team lists nineteen players and includes the ten All-Americans previously announced. "Knowing how many to take was the difficult question," says Section Five Chairman, Mike Simon. "There are so many excellent players in the Section." The second team list includes eighteen more players.

Although grade and league were not major factors in selection, the lists show the vast skills that are found throughout the section. Ten Monroe County teams were represented on the lists, with the other third representing Finger Lakes (2), GRALL(3) and Independents (1). Seniors dominated the lists with 26 and there were 7 juniors, 2 sophomores and 2 freshmen listed. Distribution among the positions show 15 midfielders, 13 attackmen, 5 defensemen and 4 goalies.

Players are to be honored on Championship Day with the reading of their names and the presentation of certificates. All-Section players who play on Class C teams will be honored after the Class C finals on Tuesday. Class A and Class B players will be honored between the Class B and Class A finals.
