Penfield traveled to Section Six to beat Orchard Park 9-8 in overtime. Although Thomas scored the first two goal of the game, Pittsford caught up and then used steady pressure as they defeated Webster Thomas 10-7 at Nazareth this afternoon. Rush-Henrietta broke a 1-1 first quarter tie and beat the Greece Lightning 15-6. The Webster Schroeder vs Greece Thunder game was suspended with about three minutes left in the half with the Warriors up 10-0.

 --  Pittsford used a stretch of goals in the second and third quarters to defeat Webster Thomas 10-7. The Panthers scored five out of six straight goals spanning from 5:19 remaining in the second quarter to the end of the fourth quarter. Pittsford controlled the ball and pace of the game in their win and remain the only undefeated team in Section Five (9-0).

Thomas started the game strong scoring the first two goals of the contest at 11:16 and 10:30. Both Titan goals were scored unassisted by Ben Morrill and Troy Crevier. Crevier was the leading scorer in the game for the Titans with 3g.

It took Pittsford only 0:13 to tie the game. James Burke, won finished the game at 68% for the face-off draw, finished leading in the ground ball tally with 8 ground balls. He won the face-off himself and fed the ball up to Tommy Scherer who scored 0:10 after the Thomas goal. Three seconds later and the Panthers scored again. Matt Gold picked up the loose ball from the face-off (he had four ground balls in the game). Gold passed across the crease to Stephen Quinzi for the goal. Quinzi finished 1g-1a.

Three minutes later, Thomas scored again. JT Hauck added the first of his two goals during man-up with a feed from John Hill. Once again, Pittsford tied the game in seconds. Burke picked up his own ground ball and fed the ball to Gold for the tying goal. A goal from Albie DiPasquale (assisted by Alex Kober) gave the Panthers their first lead of the game. The Panthers finished the first quarter leading 4-3.

Thomas scored the first goal in each of the four quarters in the game. In the second quarter it was Hauck scoring unassisted. Hauck finished the game with 10 shots, 5 on cage and 2 goals. In the second half, he finished with 6 shots, 3 on cage and 0 goals.

Pittsford controlled the rest of the quarter and the game. Jack Lauroesch gave the Panthers the lead for the last time with an assist from Matt Palmer during man-up play. Kober (assisted by DiPasquale) and Gold (assisted by Lauroesch) scored the remaining two goals of the quarter. The Panthers led 7-4 at halftime.

In the third quarter, Crevier opened up the scoring for the Titans with an unassisted goal with 2:15 remaining. Pittsford scored two more goals in the final 0:45. DiPasquale (assisted by Gold) scored with 0:42 and off the next face-off Quinzi fed the ball to Tyler Aycock for the goal. Pittsford led 9-5 after three quarters.

In the fourth quarter, Crevier scored his final goal during man-up (assisted by Adam Jollow). With 2:13 remaining, Gold scored unassisted for the Panthers. The final goal of the game was scored from a Thomas face-off win with Jake Giudice scoring an unassisted goal. In the cage, Conor Quinn finished with 10 saves (59%) for the Panthers. For Thomas, Don Grace finished with 13 saves (57%).

Penfield 9 - Orchard Park 8 in Overtime

  --  Although Orchard Park scored two goals in the final 0:30 of the regulation to force overtime, it was not enough as Andrew Huntington scored on the first shot in overtime to give Penfield a 9-8 win over their Section VI opponents. Orchard Park's only other loss this year was to Pittsford (4-2) on April 7th. They are now 6-2.

Penfield controlled the majority of the game, leading 6-2 in the third quarter. The Quakers came back strong in the final quarter to force the overtime. Attackman Austin Goltz finished with 4g for the Quakers and midfielder Brendon Kane finished with 2g.

Penfield scored the first goal of the game with Dan O'Brien feeding Alex Miles for a goal less than a minute into the game. Miles finished with 3g-1a for the Patriots. Goltz scored his first goal to tie the game three minutes later. Huntington's only other goal of the game was scored unassisted in the first quarter to give Penfield the 2-1 lead after twelve minutes.

In the second quarter, Orchard Park's Dan Murphy tied the game again (assisted by Trevor Vargo). After that Penfield stepped up their game, scoring four unanswered goals (including three to finish out the quarter). Matt Bilak scored two and face-off man Connor Russell scored the third. Both of Bilak's goals were assisted by Matt Condon. Russell finished the game 15/21 (71%) at the face-ff and had a team leading ten ground balls. Penfield led 5-2 at the half.

In the third quarter, Condon finished out the unanswered goals with a feed from O'Brien. With 10:33 remaining Penfield held their largest lead. Orchard Park scored the next two goals to end the quarter. Goltz scored his second and Kane his first. Penfield still held the lead after three quarters (6-4).

Goltz added his third goal less than a minute into the final quarter to bring the game within one goal. Miles' second goal kept the Patriot lead for another five minutes. Kane scored his second goal for the Quakers but, Miles scored again to keep the two goal lead with 3:00 remaining in regulation. John Januszkiewicz and Goltz scored the final two goals with 0:30 and 0:07 remaining in regulation to force overtime.

In the cage, Keith Keehn finished with six saves for Penfield. Nick Own finished with seven saves for the Quakers. Defenseman Cullen Mangino finished with a team leading four ground balls for Orchard Park.

Eight players made the scorebook for Rush-Henrietta (3-4). Mark Wagner played until 4:21 in the fourth quarter and had 7s/5ga(59%) 44 mins. Jeff Delaney played the rest of the game and recorded 1s/1ga.

Rush-Henrietta reports that five different players scored for the Lightning and that their goalie was 15s/15ga. There was no report from Arc/Oly.
