Saturday: Make ups for Class B - Semi final Lineups Complete
McQuaid Jesuit and Victor finished their game that was suspended in the second quarter Thursday, and in the end the Knights won 10-7. Irondequoit had a 19-0 win over Newark and Brighton won 11-3 in the night game.
-- On Thursday evening, McQuaid Jesuit led Victor 2-1 with about nine minutes left in the half at which time the game was suspended due to lightning. The game was resumed this morning and the Knights scored four goals in the last six and a half minutes of the quarter to take a commanding 6-2 lead at the half. Victor staged a comeback in the second half, but never got closer than two goals as McQuaid Jesuit went on to win 10-7.
McQuaid Jesuit will advance to the semi finals to play Irondequoit at 5:00 PM on Tuesday (St. John Fisher College).
Scoring for McQuaid Jesuit were Nick Wolak (3g), James Sturnick (3g), Eric Wright (1g), Ryan Williams (1g), Tim Caton (1g), Mike Crawford (1g) and Chris Barilla (1a). Ethan Matteson recorded 9s/7ga for the Knight (9-10).
Scoring for Victor were Mitch Rupp (2g), Connor Kimball (4g-1a), Trevor O`Shea (1g) and Brian Gilbert (1a). Kevin Donnelly had 13s/10ga for the Blue Devils who end their 2009 season at 4-13.

-- After taking a 14-0 half time lead, Irondequoit finished with a 19-0 win over visiting Newark in their quarter final Class B game this morning. Drew Coholan led the Eagles in scoring with 4g-1a while Nick Doctor added 2g-3a. Irondequoit will play their semi final game on Tuesday against McQuaid Jesuit (5:00 PM at St. John Fisher College).

-- Long stick midfielder Dan Pierce was first to get Brighton on the scoreboard when he scored at 11:45 from the first face-off. HF-L tied at 10:41 when middie Mickey Allan scored after scooping up a loose ball in front of the Brighton goal. Senior Mark Henrichs scored his first of two at 10:05 with an assist from sophomore middie Steve Cregan giving the Barons the early 2-1 lead. Brighton scored three more goals to close out the first quarter leading 5-1. Scoring for the Barons were sophomore attackman CJ Wool, senior middie Conor Stucki, and sophomore attackman Brackett Bourne adding his first of five in the game ending the quarter.
Henrichs added his second of the game at 7:58 of the second quarter with an assist from middie Evan Davis. Bourne added another goal at 5:00 with the assist from long stick midfielder Dan Pierce. The Barons went into the halftime break up 7-1.
HF-L had the first goal of the second half when attackman Eric Boike scored (unassisted) making the score 7-2. The Barons then scored at 2:24 with Wool adding his second (unassisted) increasing the lead back to six with under three minutes to play in the third quarter. Bourne scored again at 1:51 with a pass from Henrichs. Brighton took a 9-2 lead entering the fourth quarter.
The Henrichs to Bourne connection occurred two more times in the fourth with the last coming at 5:17, giving Brighton the 11-3 final score victory. Max Brauer was 8/16 with face-offs and David Hill and Dan Pierce lead Brighton with six ground balls each. With the win, Brighton advances to the Section Five Class B semi-finals vs. #1 seed Canandaigua on Tuesday, June 2 at St. John Fisher College (7:00 PM).
Scoring for Brighton were Brackett Bourne (5g), Mark Henrichs (2g-3a), CJ Wool (2g), Dan Pierce (1g-1a), Conor Stucki (1g), Steve Cregan (2a) and Evan Davis (1a). Kyle Hohmann had 13s/3ga for the Barons (14-3).
Scoring for HFL were Mickey Allan (1g), Eric Boike (2g) and Jordan Gushue (1a). Jay Tallon recorded 10s/11ga for the Cougars who finish their 2009 season at 5-12.
