Jason Lockner, head men’s lacrosse coach at Alfred University, has announced that Ben Cafolla, a senior defenseman at Mynderse Academy, will be playing at Alfred in 2016-17.

The Mynderse Academy senior defenseman has been on the Varsity team since his freshman year and has posted 17g-6a as a Blue Devil. As a junior last year, he picked up 128 ground balls and caused 40 turnovers. He received first team All-League honors from the Finger Lakes coaches and was also named to the Section Five All Section Second team.

Alfred is an NCAA Division III school playing in the Empire 8 Conference. Last year they finished the season with a 13-4 record. The Saxons draw many players from Section Five. The 2015 roster contains seventeen local players.
